So I removed the forks in order to change the fork seals, and noticed that one of them was bent slightly. The bend is at the top of the slider while at full compression, and when put against a straight edge, is about 1/4" off from the rest of it.
My question: Is it essential that I replace it? The bike rides straight and I didn't even notice it until it was removed.
    Thanks!

I would be Replacing it, way to much of an important piece not to be right. Not that you didn't notice it. it's all a matter of knowing, now that you do, it will bug you. you have half the job done, might as well make it right.

1/4" is more than I would try to straighten.... replace it.

Look on ebay you may get lucky.

On a side note if I were to lay a fork tube on a granite table what are the tolerances on how straight it should be.

    Billiam500:

I think Traxxion Dynamics can straighten bent fork tubes.

Google them and see, you may have to call them too.

    Somebody confirm!

fork tubes can be straightened, but 1/4" is a pretty good bend. I would replace it. I am sure a new one is available from Honda, and yes, +/-$200 for a new one.
