Well I just got home from my first ride of the year, just up the road to Charlevoix for fire training. It was in the mid-40s on the way up, mid-30s coming home after dark, eyes wide open for deer. Taking it really easy of course, but I was surprised at how quickly it came back to me after months of no riding. The bike was really happy to get out and go. It felt so good to lean into a curve, and wind it up to pass a car. I didn't freeze nearly as badly as I thought I would, but I'm gonna order heated grips tomorrow anyway. Life is good, and 100 miles better now.

You guys get rid of all the snow up there yet? I was skiing at Treetops in Gaylord on the 14th and it seemed like there was still a foot of snow on the ground around town....

There's still snow on the ground, but the roads are clear. It's been sunny and 40-50 most days lately. Got up to 68 last Tuesday. We've been making maple syrup, so I know it's spring.

I've been riding for a month now in Western MA. I actually rode my motorcycle up to a buddies place two towns away to go snowmobiling. I put some ATV gauntlets on my bars. Looks kinda dumb, but it keeps my hands warm. Last Friday it was 17 degrees on my ride home, that was a little chilly. It's not too bad if you don't try to go too far. Hopefully it'll warm up quickly soon.
