Poll--in making corners on the same radius which could you make faster
    right or left.

I am right handed, and seem to corner much better to the left--can't figure it.

I believe I would make right handed corners faster, but I can't say for sure. I never really thought about it.

More comfortable on the right for me. Wierd thing is, my left boot has touched the asphalt more often. Maybe I just don't tuck it in well enough.
I'd really like to get an expert opinion watching my riding, now that I'm thinking about it....

I feel more confident on lefts, and had the toes down to prove it.

Everbody has a bias of cornering better in one way or the other. Strangely I corner better to the right. (Just look at your tire wear)

I enjoy both left and rights. Sort of like asking which of my children do I like better.

I'm a stronger left turner as evidenced by the wear on my left boot vs my right. I have asked people and heard that is the more common case. I have only met one other who turns stornger to right.

Don't matter left or right what bugs me is down hill or up on corners. I do a bit better going up, could be all in my head cuz I don't care for stressing out going down as the suspension is all ready compressed. could be just my confidence is getting the better of me..other day was riding with GSXRs on a slight down hill with lots of rights and lefts with decressing radus and the like, I was getting it down, kept right with them all is good. still feels better going up than down.

Same for me RVFR. If I'm going downhill it feels much harder to turn. I guess it's from gravity, but on the plus side, the front tire really grabs.

uphill is always faster for me as I seem to have more speed control with the throtle than having to brake.

I was more confident in left hand corners... until I ran wide exiting a left hander & dropped my VFR.

Now I seem to prefer right hand corners. Not that I can go on any decent rides... :frown: (work )

I'm about the same, but probaly a little faster in left handers. It comes from mx and using the the rear brake. It really is a left brain right brain thing. I have to concentrate alot more on rt handers. the lefts are natural.

Maybe it has to do with the strength of your right or left leg as to how you lift and position with it.

I do have my favourite corner types but not a favourite direction if that makes any sense.

My most favourite type is a flat double apex! When you get it right, it is soo satisfying.

Secound favourite would be fast sweepers with good visibility so you can drag body parts at 100+.

Least favourite would be blind downhill off camber shaded wet corners or hard corners under bridges where the asphalt can be twenty degrees cooler than the road leading in. Treacherous!

Left seems to feel more natural possibly due to the relationship between body lean / wrist angle on the throttle.

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I prefer right turns a little more than left. When I enter a right turn it feals natural. When I enter a left turn I have to think about the turn a bit more and kind of plan my line instead of fealing my way through. I can't really say that my right turns are faster; just feal more natural.

I would agree I like them both and have no preference as to speed but I like the feel of the rights. It's all in how you see it. The visual aspect is the key. Pick your line and follow it. If you can't see the line and project your focus through the turn your not going to like either way. I teach this in skiing all the time. " Project your focus and give your body time to react. This will smoothe out your turning and stop you from overshooting the entry or squirting out too soon. .....there you have it I'm getting all practiced up for the winter with my miles of tech talk on body mechanics.. sorry about that

    Corners...

I'm right handed, but shoot left in Ice Hockey, and I'm much better/comfortable in left turns for some reason. Not sure why, I just enjoy left turns better. I do my best to remain fluid and smooth, and concentrate on my body positioning when I ride, especially going to mthe right, as this is my weak point, when compared to going to the left.

    Being in Australasia

Being in Australasia and driving on the left most of the time - you would think left hand turns would be easier. More room to manouver if something goes wrong, and nothing is coming the other way. You have more room to play with.

However I havnt noticed any preference to one way or the other.

I do actually like going downhill better than uphill. I dont know why.

I have been a lot quicker than most of my mates going downhill. Even though some of them are more confident and quicker than me under normal level riding.

I do recall catching up to a mate coming down the Takaka hill in Nelson area. A very steep hill. This was back in 85 0r 86. He had an RD250, I was riding an XT200 trail bike !!!! He wondered where the hell I had come from, considering he had disappeared on the uphill section.
