Center stand option on 91??

Dunno if you're still working on this, but I came across these instructions:

yes someone else pointed those out....thanks along with photos i got of someone elses stand i figured it out and got it installed using it as we speak to change my sprockets and chain....

 

Ideas on spring length

Glad I saw this thread..I just puchased a 91 VFR with a centre stand but while getting it safetied they had to remove the centre stand because the spring had been replaced by one of the previous owners with a makeshift..the dealer noted that the spring they used wasn't strong enough to hold it up in place so they took it off to safety..I'd like to put back on but the service manual doest list the spring , just shows it..I'd like to purchase one but have no idea on length..hope someone can help me with this

Try another dealership. All this stuff in engineered and on parts and assembly lists not only on line but in microfische.

Seems to me that if this outfit removed your centerstand there might be more going on that they are saying. Being the spring is a known and very likely available, the stand could have been wired or clamped in place until a replacement spring was found.

You might want to ask around about this outfit too. Dealers are just like anyone else. some good, some bad and some who should be fitted with concrete shoes.
