Hi all. Has any one out there ever made a set of spark plug leads ( wires ) for their bike??.... if so how did you do it & what parts did you save from your old set, or if any one knows where there is any instructions for this please send me any input or info this is for an 83 vf750f. Thanks Dave
All you need is about 4' of 7mm wire. Can't use larger diameter. Unscew your old ends off and screw them on to the new cut wires. Use the "o-ring" from the old wires. Other wise the wire will come out/off the ends and coils.
Thanks crey i started messing around with the leads today all i have todo is get the o-ring off then off to the parts store... Thanks again for your input
Mmm, Ignition wires should always be a one piece wire. It is very dangerous and risky to attempt to run a spliced wire. Unless you can remove the electrode end from the sparking unit, (which are typically molded in plastic), I do not recommend attempting to repair an ignition wire. Hot spots, arc outs, leeching, amp loss, etc.. are just a few reasons why not. Excluding, of course, the potential of explosion from any of these.
