After just having finished working on another friends bike (we installed sliders and fender eliminator on his new GSXR). My cousin pulled my bike out to the alley so that my friend could take his first ride on it (he didn't want to ride without the sliders). My bike was sitting in the middle of the alley, turned on and with my cousin sitting on it revving the engine. That doesn't bother me so much since I'm used to one of my friends doing that. Anyway, a car pulls into the alley, so my friend takes the liberty to put the bike in gear and ride off. Nothing I could do then.

About twenty minutes later he comes back. I reopen the garage door and approach him on the right. I saw nothing wrong with it since it was already night, and my alley is fairly dark and the garage door opener light is dim, so we pushed it back in the garage without any doubt. My friends and my cousin go on their way and I go inside.

A little while later another one of my friend comes by to pick up his bike that is also in the garage. He then asks me if I dropped my bike, I quickly tell him no, but think back to my cousin... After turning on all of the lights, In disbelief I see what he was talking about. I call my cousin and ask him what the hell he did and why he didn't tell me when we pushed it inside. Turns out he dropped the bike while making a turn and he didn't think any damage had been done to the bike.

My cousin agreed to pay for the repairs on my bike... which are essentially just the left front plastics. I've priced out the parts on hondaparts-direct.com and the cost to replace the plastics are around $900... However, I bought the bike with Canadian Imported Silver Fairings... Which I'm not so sure any US dealer would sell to me as US 94-97 VFRs only came in red. Additionally, the front wheel is not perfectly centered when comparing it to the fender.

Do you guys know of any reliable Canadian dealers that will ship to the US? Also, any ideas on what's up with the misaligned wheel?

This sucks too because I was going to trade my bike in for a Z1000 or Bandit 1250 soon. What a crappy end to a nice Saturday.

Damn that sucks! Good luck on the Silver! Might have to get red and have them painted.

Try these guys. I just ordered a bunch of fairings as well as the tank from them. They are shipping to my German address with insurance and tracking numbers. I've been dealing with Karen and she's been very helpful! Oh, and you can't get the silver fairings from a U.S. dealer, as I've already tried. Honda Canada is a different company than Honda U.S. apparently. Even with the part numbers, the U.S. dealer said that they couldn't get the parts that I wanted. Fortunately the Canadian dollar isn't as strong against the dollar as it was, so ordering this way was actually cheaper than ordering the corresponding red parts that I wanted. Hope that helps.

douglasthecook, Thanks a bunch for your reply! I will surely look into your dealer if I can't get the guys at Barrie Honda to ship me stuff to the US.

I guess it can't hurt to call them too, to compare prices at least.

    Thanks again!
