    Hello,

I was was hoping for a little help. I have a 1999 VFR that I bought used with 10k on it. The center of the rear tire is flat as a board. It is very obvious when transitioning into corners. I would like to replace the tire. Could anyone give me a suggestion for a good tire choice. I ride about 160 miles commuting per day when weather permits. Sadly, it is mostly highway. No track days or the like.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tom

Bridgestone BT-021. Dual compound. I got 8500 miles out of my last one. Also check your tire pressure regularly. If the tires on your new bike are almost as old as the machine itself replace them all immediately. Tires dry out after a year or two and turn into plastic hoops. The front may look good with lots of tread, but I can assure you it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Ridedirect.com has some of the best prices with free shipping. The set of BT-021's will set you back $230.

My 99 was about 7 years old when I got it. Low mileage, original tires had plenty of tread and zero traction.

Long story short, replace the front too. Unless you know it's new in the last year or so.

Any dual compound tired would be good for what you want.

    Wow
    That is a good price!!!

I know this is a loaded question, but Bridgestone BT-021 or Michelin Pilot
    Road2???? Price is reasonably close.

Any advantage or disadvantage of a 190 vs. a 180 rear?

I know this is a loaded quest

    Tom

I put a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2s 6,000 miles ago, and I love them. They still look great.
