Ok... had my first experience with my VFR today. It's an '06 Pearl White that I bought in Jan, still with 0km on it. I ordered the VFR lowering link from Ron at Sigmacycle.com, and I've got to say that for a short rider like me (5'6" 30 inseam) it really improved the stability and I feel so much steadier on it. Now I feel kind of ridiculous writing this before I've actually riden it, still got a few weeks before it's truly riding weather here in Ottawa, Canada. I went to my dealership to see the bike after PDI and with the lowering link on, and was able to fire it up for the first time. I couldn't believe the sound that came out of those pipes, even without a load on the engine. The lack of delay when revved was incredible, it sounded like a dragster. I bought the VFR because it was well reviewed, and the riders were loyal. After having only sat on it and twisted the throttle a few times, I am absolutely in love with this bike...

    What's your story?

i had a similar experience. when i went to test ride mine, i pulled up to the guys house and we went out back, he started up the bike, revved it a few times, and i was sold. took it for a short test ride and it had to be mine.

    VFR first experience

I can relate to this totally. I bought my first bike in 20 years in September 2007. Bought a 1986 Nighthawk 700S from ebay, site unseen, drove 350 miles and trailered it home. Even thought my license was still active I had only been on a bike once a couple months before so I knew I was not in riding shape. After a year of roaming around locally the lack of wind protection was starting to get to me. I would joke that you have to have velcro gloves to hang on past 90 miles an hour. I was looking for something sporty that I could do some touring on and I could ride for more than 1 hour without a back ache. I looked on the internet, read the new articles about different bikes and of course I wanted a Honda. After listening to some sound clips from youtube I was sold on the VFR. Bought it off ebay, wife and I drove to Alabama, paid the man and I drove it home. It already had a sargent seat, helibars and double bubble windscreen. The riding position is perfect so it is easy to see why it is so loved.

A week ago I took my new to me 06 Black Pearl for my first ride. She had only 4257 miles when I bought her at the end of January.

First ride was very exciting, in fact me and a buddy rode 184 miles that day. Cruising the sand-patched roads of southern NH, we were taking it fairly easy. I am in love with the noises the VFR produces. The intake sound track is one of the best I have ever heard. I can't wait to ride again!

Congrats I would have gladly bought a pearl white 06 vs. the gunmetal gray 08, though I have heard they tweaked the VTEC a little sometime between the two years.

Interesting you have the lowering link. How much does it lower it? I'M an inch taller with an inch less inseam myself.

Several years ago rented a VFR800 for a tour of the New Zealand North Island following some business in Auckland. Had a choice of BMW's to pick from (which I know very well) but chose the VFR to "see what this bike is all about". Now I know. Had my eye out for one since and found a mint '01 with 12K on the odom a few weeks ago.

That's the volcano Mt. Taranaki just south of New Plymouth, NZ. Awhile later paused at Lake Taupo, a trout fest of water contained in the immense crater of an ancient volcano...

The bike even got me in trouble.

But it was a great trip. The VFR totally overdelivered. Have some nice bikes in the barn here, but can see why the VFR is legendary, and very grateful was able to find just what I was looking for.

When i picked up my VFR (after i worked on one as a mechinic i just had to have one) i had not long sold a wee kwaker GPX 250 and felt a bit uncomfortabal with the different riding position but about an hour down the road behind a long line of cars there was a passing lane comeing up. My mate pulled up beside me on an 86' VF1000 and pointed, i nodded and shot past all those cars. Havnt looked back since
After owning it for 3 years im still only licenced to ride a 250.... should get on to that.

You would be correct , or in Layman's terms "$450 grab for an hours work"
You will LOVE this bike though! I get my RWB in TWO WEEKS baby!
