Congrats on the purchase matman. Be sure to post some pics if you can. Did I mention that we love to see pics?
Finally! Thanks Guys! I have been bikeless for about 3weeks and it's been killing me. I am excited about my VFR and I will post some pics soon.
Finally! Hey! It's all I thought it would be. Great! My previous bike was a 98 Katana 600. It was a fun bike but is not even in the same catagegory. The new bike is a 2000 model with 5400miles on it so its new to me. I live in middle TN so I will be hitting the twisties with a smile on my face.
Glad to hear youlove your new ride. I agree the VFR is in a class all by itself. Hey matman, I am planing to be at Deals Gap the weekend of Sept 2. Me and some buds of mine are planning to go. If you wanna meet up, let me know.
It's so weird how there are all these older (more than five years) used bikes for sale with hardly any miles on them. Mine only had 4500 when I bought it in May and is a 98. I guess I don't understand how you could buy a $10,000 bike and never ride it, especially the VFR.......SO FUN!!! I feel your pain on the 3 weeks without a bike. It is so dang hot and humid here that it is almost unbearable to commute. It would be fine if it was just hot without the humidity, then I could just douse the jacket and be cool. Have fun with the new bike! 5th gens rule! Although I wouldn't mind havin a 6gen too.
^ Agree with the above. My 2006 VFR800 is 3.5 weeks old and I have almost 2700 miles on it already. At this rate I'll probably have about 15K on it in just the first year!
I frequent about 3 web sites and all I read about is Deals Gap, it must be the holy grail of bike riding in that part of the United States...
Welcome Matman! I'm sure that Vman would agree with me when I say ........ " that's no 600 Katana,.....that's a V4 son! " Wait till you get the feel for it so you can really lay the power down then you'll see what being a VFR nut is all about ...Enjoy the Gap guys I wish I were closer or I would go all the time. I will plan a trip there soon I hope.
finally Hey, I have not been to deals gap yet but a lot of guys here in Nashville go often. I live about 8 miles from Natchez trace and its a fun ride on the northern end from Summertown TN- Nashville. Lots of twisties but you have to be on the look out for Johnny Law.
