Hey, Ben a lurker here for a few yrs. great site:thumbsup: Head'n down the coast to Palm Springs from Yakima, Wa. on the 23 and am in need of a touring screen like a GIVI or ZG or ?. Any body got a used one in good shape they'd part with? PM here, thanks
Hey Ben....you're not gonna be too far from me at your destination. If you have never been to PS...be sure to hit up the Palm Springs Tramway.....it is worth the price of admission. Also, there are some very nice (with much less traffic) roads on the way down if you are tiring of being stuck behind a Winnebago for 50 mles on the PCH...
Thanks Jason Ya Rode Down Couple Times Before, Never Rode Tram , Maybe This Time. Love The Pch, As Far As The Winnies Twist & Go!!!! Got A Givi Screen From Twisted Throttle For 76 Bucks On Closeout, Ya! Mit Pm U When I Get There On The 26 Or 27. Thanks Ed
Well, if I was you, and wanting to kill time (you probably know this, but I will just double your information then..hahaha)...I would go for a little stroll on the mtn roads nearby. Off of the 10 freeway in Banning (west of PS), you will find the 243 which is a kick road that winds it's way up to Idyllwild. Really a sweet twisty road. After you dodge all the tourists in their SUV's heading up to Idyllwild...hang a left (go east) on the 74 and if you stay on it and do not divert course, it will take you into the backside of Palm Desert. Sweet road once you just decending back into the Valley. Then just take 111 left (west) back to Palm Springs...easy cheesy Japanesy.... Tramway is the shizzle for views...nice hiking trails and all up there as well....can be nippy though....desert can be 75, and it can be 35 up there. Joshua Tree and Big Bear are close by as well. Get the ZG sport tour not the Givi. The wind protection is very similar but the Givi caused head shake above 70. Have the ZG now and the bike is rock steady up to 120, haven't been above that yet.
Mr Dave....I will have you know that VFRW does not in anyway shape or form condone your illegal road speeds. If you further this despicable action, the authorities (Joey Dude) will be notified and you will be forced to enroll in his "how to make a foo out of da po-po and get away wid it!"
Thanks J, I forgot to add the dislaimer. All testing was conducted on a closed road course and only tires were abused during testing
