98 w/ dead LCD listed

Local guy wants (badly) to sell his 98.
aftermarket seat, dark tinted window, aftermarket pipe.
dropped once.
BUT.
the LCD is dead.

what's the fix 4 that?
10 cent fuse? loose connection?....or maybe "take the bike off the LCD piece by piece"?

any thots?

Check servicehonda.com for the price on a new lcd. Surely the odometer info is saved somewhere.

ever wonder what it would cost to build a Gen5 if you bought all the parts from Servicehonda?

that little LCD Panel is leanin' on 3hunderdsmackers....
$140 each for the tach & speedo if you wanted those too......

guess that would be one way to get a low mileage 98.........

 

Other than that, keep your eyes open for a junker. There is a guy parting out a 5th gen right now.

I'm willing to bet he's got corrosion on the PCB board for that bad boy. Pull that sucker out and check it out.

All the mileage data is stored in the dash, and the guys at bluegauges.com can pull out the info for you and install it into a new dash unit for you with a copy of your driver license and a copy of the title with your name on it I believe.

 

Well, based on this formula, if I wait another three weeks...:biggrin:
