I'm in Newark. Love to ride the roads down in the hills. 555 is a favorite. Be heading down that way as soon as the rain stops to break in the new VFR!

Ok everyone, lets set a date for the vfr ride by looks of it we'd have a great turn out & various generations to show off.
We're located in Lancaster about 30 miles south east of Columbus. Maybe we could find a central location between here & Cleveland. I noticed that alot of riders are from up around that area.

i was thinking about something along those lines. i was out at mohican state park just last weekend and there are quite a few curvy backroads that would be fun for a little ride. i do bleieve it is probably close to where your talking about.

Another good location to consider meeting at might be at the intersection of I-70 and SR 13 near Thornville, OH. I mention this because I've found that on most weekends throughout the riding season (particularly in the spring and fall), the Mohican area (while scenic) is often heavily congested with RV's, SUV's, minivans, Harley caravans, etc., and the same holds true for the Hocking Hills region.

I've found that many of Ohio's most fun yet least congested motorcycling roads are located in the rural eastern and southeastern regions of the state, which are among the foothills of the Appalachian mountains to the south, and the Allegheny mountains to the east.

The intersection of I-70/SR 13 is a fine jumping-off point for some of Ohio's best motorcycling roads, including Rt's 78, 669, 555, 800, 26, etc. One circuit I would suggest would be to follow Rt. 13 south from Thornville, to Rt. 78 at Glouster. Then follow 78 northeast to Rt. 669 at Malta, which is on the Muskingum river. From Malta, follow 669 west, back to Rt. 13, thus completing a really fun circuit. This is just one of many possible circuits. (Thornville has Shell and BP stations, and there are also gas stations at Malta.)

The circuit I'm suggesting will put you in some very beautiful rural areas of Ohio (watch out for Amish buggies, etc.) but one downside would be an absence of conventional cell phone coverage in many of these regions.

This location is perfect for me, I'm only about 15 minutes from that spot on 13. We're running out of season quick!

Aracnid: I haven't seen any other 6th gens in newark yet, one 5th but he didn't seem too interested in waving at me (yellow). If you see the camo green viffer that's me!

That's about the same for us. Ashland works well too, just need to pick an exact spot, date, time, & ride.

I hate to bump an old thread, but, hey, I'm the new guy on here! LOL! I'm in Holland, just east of Toledo. I don't see a lot of folks nearby. . . but on a VFR "nearby" is all relative, right?
