Hi All, I just purchased a 1986 VFR750f yesterday. Have spent all day cleaning, scrubbing, epoxying, plastic repairing, fibreglassing, and now windshield cleaning!! Thanks for all the fantastic information on the site, which made my decision to purchase so easy. Jay
Congrats on your new purchase and welcome to the boards? Any pictures of the old gal that you can post? Out of curiousity what made you decide on an older VFR? Also include your location so that we can harrass you to participate in some group rides. Rollin
Thanks! Forgot to add my details..... I was looking for something comfortable for touring, but with some go. I was considering mid 90's, and then a mate found the bike at a local dealer, and said I should have a look. Did the research over the weekend, and figured it was a good deal ($3000). This is only my second bike - traded up from a 94 CB250. I'm a latecomer to riding.... Only have this pic so far (taken at the dealer - old bike in the background).
welcome to the site. looks like a nice ride. if you get the chance, and decide to do some upgrades, don't foget to take pictures and add a how-to to the site for the next person who scores an older VFR to ride.
Hello and welcome mate! You're downunder from downunder's, downunder, of the downunder's.....hmmmm....
Thanks for the welcomes guys. If I do anything to the bike that hasn't been covered already, I'll be sure to add destructions to the forum. As for downunders, hmmmmm..... Well downunder my bike is all clean now! Jay
Great choice of bike and year. As far as I'm concerned, 1986 was the best lineup Honda ever had. Congratulations and welcome.
