    Hi,
Recently bought my bike and since then ive been running it with the choke on the full position, i hadnt noticed until i realized i was using up more gas than i should. So i fiddled around with the plastic rev thingamajig thats somewhere in the engine. i increased the revs while bringing the choke lower and i thought that would be fine. But when i rode it after that, everytime i clutch, the revs shoot up to like 3000. I dont know if i did the right thing (doesnt feel like it). Should i left the choke as it was? How should i balance the two? What is the optimum choke position????

Choke should be closed (on) only at start-up. When you're under way, it should be open (off). If you run the engine with the choke on, you will run it lean and hot.
So.... When the engine is cold and it's not a hot day, pull the choke closed. Start the bike. Watch your RPMs and open the choke to maintain no more than 2500 RPMs at idle. When the engine has warmed open the choke (off) fully and ride. If you want to ride before fully warm be sure to open the choke, knowing your low RPM performance will suffer until the engine warms.
Now, for idle speed, which is the adjustment you raised the RPM to 3000 with..... You are definitley too high. Your bike should idle around 1000 to 1200 RPM.
There is no balancing the choke and idle for regular operation. Set warm idle as described and never ride with the choke anywhere but fully open. If it's not possible to do that, you have another issue, which could be one or several things. Set it up right first and perhaps we'll troubleshoot later as needed.

    Hope it works for you!

    Anytime.

That was too easy. I figured you'd have idle troubles or something else. I'm glad you don't.

    Enjoy!
