Bought my 2004 VFR in July and promised the wife that I would sell my 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport to pay for it. Somehow never got around to it -- the MG is a great bike. In an ideal world would have kept both, but a kid's braces and medical bills from a couple of "incidents" that have kept me off the bikes since before Thanksgiving (except for a very short period of time beween said incidents) combined with lousy insurance coverage have forced me to sell, but you might be surprised that the choice of which bike was not that easy.

The MG provides a rawer motorcycling experience. It vibrates, has an awsome boom from its aftermarket pipes, and has great low-end grunt. Combine that with engine noise, dry clutch noise and you truly get to commune with your motorcycle at a very basic level.

Still chose the Honda in the end. More capable as the revs build, I for one love the sound of the second set of valves opening, fit and finish so much better, hard bags and fairing better for longer distances. Feels more refined in a Porche kind of way rather than a Camry kind of way. Handling would be a toss-up between the two.

Guess in the end at least from me that's a pretty big compliment to the VFR that I'm keeping it instead of the Guzzi, though am going to be sad to see it go. Hopefully there will be another one in my future to compliment the VFR.

Tough choice. I see in another thread that some one kept the bike and dumped his wife. It didn't seem to be as difficult a choice as yours.

I have never owned a Guzzi, but have always liked them from afar. Too bad you had to let her go.

    Moto Guzzis

I've had several Guzzis, including a '95 1100 Sport. It was my favorite sportbike ever. I sold a Ducati 900 SS SP because I never rode it after I got the Sport. Unfortunately, it got totaled by an idiot who ran into me while I was stopped at a red light, but I digress...
I'd keep the Guzzi. They're great bikes! A perfect compliment to the VFR. Just ask way to much for it and you'll get to keep it!
    But that's just my opinion!

    Cheers!

    Craig

I rode a buddy's 83 MK3 850 Le Mans and it was a fun ride. Torquey and had a decent top end.

My advice would be to get a can of ether from Pep Boy's and put your old lady under long enough to remove one of her kidneys. 15K or 20K is good money, besides she's got two... .

I'm trying to sell the mother-in-law instead. Unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to pay to get rid of her.

Couldn't do it in the end. When I received an e-mail expressing interest my heart almost broke. Felt like I was selling by dog that's been with me for the last 10 years. Pulled the ad. Will figure something else out. Managed to hold onto the wife as well. Unfortunately was not able to get rid of the mother-in-law.
