The G2 Ergonomics Throttle Tamer got a very good review in Motorcycle Consumer News and was highly recommended by an ST 1300 rider. According to Sam at G2 Ergonomics the ST 1300 spec will work on the 6th Gen VFR, but he wasn't sure about the 5th Gen. Has anyone tried this product which claims to smooooth the throttle response as I would be interested in trying it on my 01 VFR. Are throttle connections at the bar and bar size the same on 5th and 6th Gen.s? Thanks for any feedback.

Don't know. I do know the throttle part nos. are different between the 5th Gen and the ST 1300, which gave me pause. I also know I wrote the G2 folks twice to ask this question and didn't get a response either time.

My e-mail was not answered either. But call to Sam was very pleasant. He stressed their 100% satisfaction return policy, while stating he did not know for sure, but thought it would work as bars on ST and VFR are the same. The pictures of this product and the spec.s indicate it is a quality piece, so would like to know if it will work in this application. Maybe will just have to try it and see, unless someone has already blazed this trail.

I would really like to have one of these on my '98. Anybody yet know if it will work on the 5th Gen?

Looks like we have at least 3 possible sales here. You might check with Sam and see if he'll front one to you to try and report back to him, credit card not to be charged for X days, etc. In his place, I would.

I'd be interested in the more expensive one because of the greater adjustability (ramp choices), fwiw.

Nice idea. I wouldnt mind one tuned to my spec. Just a tick slower on opening but then faster than stock going to full throttle. One thing I did notice between my old 4th gen and the 5th gen, is that the 4th takes 1 1/4 turns to open to full throttle and the 5th takes 1 1/2 turns. Not a big difference, but enuff to notice to get to full throttle when you want it.

-Anybody check their 6th throttle turns to full open? Just curious.
