No, I'm not talking about legs....

is it okay to wax things other than the tank? Like the farings, etc.... also, what does the wax protect against?? I know it is supposed to make it look better, does it also protect against small scratches?

I use Zaino polish/wax on my 06, all over.

Other then removing the seat, I'd recommend waxing the entire bike after cleaning it head to toe. A quality wax (Zaino, Mothers, Meguirer's) is another layer that anything must go through to get to the paint. Honda polish is great stuff, but its not a coat of carnuba or similar. Its a good petroleum distallate based polish, for sure. I use a high-grade (Z5) scratch and swirl remover on the whole bike, and then go over it again with a high-gloss (Z1) coat. I also do the wheels the best I can. It helps to keep the brake dust and road debris off the wheels.

    Have fun!

As Lanson said, wax the whole bike and use the Honda polish on those days where you just need to touch it up, I take the honda polish with me on my rides, I also use plexus for the wind screen, and visor, as it helps aid in the bugs not sticking so well plus keeping things looking great too.

I love Honda Polish and Mothers!

I keep a can of Honda Spray polish in my beetle bags. Mother's real carnuba is great as well( for annusl waxing) . I use Rain X on shield and Face sheilds. Comes in real handy during thses southern monsoons!
