I think the fiche has the size and length. It's sometimes in parentheses in the part description. If not you'll have to measure each one. Keep in mind that some items, such as the case covers, have multiple screws but they are not all the same length.

It's a scaly thing with gills and fins that swims in the lakes, streams and oceans.

Oh, wait a minute, that's not right. Fiche is short for "microfiche," a film data storage medium.

    microfiche definition
    micro·fiche (mīkrō fēs̸h′)
    noun pl. -·fich′es or -·fiche′
a small sheet of microfilm on which a number of pages of microcopy can be recorded

    For example....

Follow the link above to the Bike Bandit fiche/parts list. On the frame that shows the generator cover notice that item #15 is the case cover bolt. In the description it has (6x28) at the end. The denotes that the bolt is an M6 and 28mm long. Most of the bolts on the Honda parts list have this code so that you can determine the correct location for each bolt.

Anodize is something you do aluminum. If they're just fairing screws you have in mind that should be okay. Don't replace steel with aluminum on anything serious.

Getting the sizes is easy..Get yourself a cheap-0 set of dial
calipers...measure the outside diameter, pitch, and length (not including button or cap) in inches. Convert to metric...

Multiply inch value .xxx by 25.4 to get the M value.

Metric threads note pitch directly...i.e.: M10x1.5 means 10mm OD and 1.5 pitch measured between the roots of two threads.

Checkout McMaster Carr or MSC, or look in your yellow pages under industrial supply.

Yeah i know not to use them in stress areas. Is there anyway to get color stainless or titanium bolts though ?

There must be a process to colorize stainless, but I don't know what it is.
These guys are tops, you might try contacting them

    D & W Fasteners

short of that, you could always use touch up paint on critical bolts after they're tourqued.

There is a black oxide treatment that can be applied to stainless fastener, though I'm not sure why you would do it. Titanium can be anodized using a similar process to aluminum. The solution concentration and amperage of the process must be adjusted. The color isn't nearly as vivid as with aluminum parts, it kind of looks transparent.

Try Pro-Bolt in England. They list hardware packages by bike. You can search for them at Tastynuts.com
