I just bought an '02 VFR, and am looking for a list of the factory recalls so I can verify with the dealer that they've been completed.

Anybody owned a '02 since new and received the Honda notices?

    As far as I'm aware..

Which may not be that far...there aren't any recalls listed for the VFR VTEC.

    This should help...

There was a Rear Sub Frame recall for the 2002 model:
VINs 400001-401715 for non-ABS and VINs 400001-400535 for ABS models. Link

There was also a recall on the linked brakes PCV on the VFR (as well as the Blackbird, Goldwing, and ST1300). The recall effects 2002-2004 non-ABS models and 2003-2004 ABS models. Link

There was also a "Product Update Campaign" (not a recall) for the 2002 to upgrade the stator with one that produced more power. The update caimpaign offically ends on October 17th, 2007 from what I understand. Link

    re: Recalls

Thanks a million for the links!

I found the number for the Honda Owners Service Center, and gave them a call. They ran my VIN and told me that the only recalls applicable to my bike had already been addressed by the dealer with the previous owner. She read them right off to me along with dates etc.

As you mention, there are a couple of recalls, and one 'upgrade campaign', but only apply to certain VIN ranges.

I faxed in my new title and was able to transfer the factory warranty to my name as well. Those people were very helpful and informative.

    Thanks again for the info!

    Ride safe!
