Well I can't say I was sorry to see her go, she was good to me, she allowed me to do things I hadn't done in almost 18 years, she was a nice ride. torquey, and frisky when it counted, steady and sure footed when I needed her to be.
SHE, was my 06 SV 650 that I bought last year to get me back in the saddle after an 18 year vacation from riding, I got the SV to squash the high gas prices we all were hit with last year. so after a season back in the saddle I was sitting around the office and a buddy asked If I wanted to go with him to get his new 1000RR, then I saw her, she stole my heart. She was a red head, sexy, with wild curves I wanted to ride her, I had to have her, I hadn't had a ride like her since I was in my 20's before I married. I called my wife and broke the news to her, that I had found someone else, she couldn't believe her ears, she asked the question (so I guess your just going to change now, out with the old in with the new?) my wife said if that is the way it must be then that is the way it must be, she said whatever made me happy made her happy and she hung up.

SHE was a brand new burgundy red VFR 800, my wife met me and drove me over to close the deal, AND NOW MY BRAND NEW VFR IN STUCK IN THE GARAGE WHILE IT IS SNOWING! oh well, at least I have it. I liked the SV but I love this bike, I have always wanted one, even back when I raced my FZR back in 89. anyway I have now traded in my SV and the SVRider site for my VFR and this site. and I am glad to be here.

Congrats on your "alleged" purchase! Without pictures this story sounds a bit suspect so post em' up. I assume this is a 2007 Candy Dark Red that you are talking about? Where exactly is it snowing right now Tex? Call me a genius, I'm guessing you are not in Texas??

    Regards,
    Rollin

:welcome:, but I have to say...
    :worthless:

I know when the snow melts you'll love riding the tires off of her. The bike not your wife...

I know EXACTLY how you feel....

    Congratulations!

I purchased mine yesterday, and pick it up in one week.

I feel in love with this bike when I hit the first good curve on my test ride. I still haven't wiped this stupid grin off my face.

Good trade Tex! You won't be disappointed. With the bike nor this site.

And kudos to your wife for understanding our affections we have for the VFR.

    Tex,

I looked and and rode the SV's before buying my VFR. I am glad I did it. I cannot wait for the weather to change here in NEPA. I was out in the garage last night, caressing the tank, and telling her...soon my love...soon, we will ride again...

Oh wait...what was I talking about again???

Anyway, it is an addiction. The VFR does all that you will want and more.

    Dave

Ok, OK here you go. just to prove it isn't "suspect", and yes I am from Dallas but moved to Kentucky 4 years ago (my wife is from here) might be moving back if they keep raising taxes.

I absolutely love that color. You've made a fine decision sir. You planning on doing any long distance tourning on your new lady friend??

thanks everyone, I also think I have made a great choice.
as far as long range riding? I have a buddy that lives the next street over that wants me to join him and others for the texasmac memorial ride. That sounds like a great possibility that I will join in on that.
