Done a great deal of searching on-line, but thought I would get one more opinion from the VFR faithful.
1996-4th gen, lost two 1/4 turn fasteners while on a spin with the lower off. Honda wants 10 per, and washers (small, clear, plastic!) cost extra.
Found aircraft suppliers that sell same thing, phillips head and steel, for a buck- BUT
also found some D-ring head style (quick-off, for the pits at Laguna Seca when I run MotoGP) that are made for Ducatis.
    Very nice.
Set of 10 for 32.00. That's both sides of my ride, and I can get them in black.
The length is a little tricky, but I'm gonna get the long ones (2mm longer) and just put in a thicker washer.
    Anyone use these?
    Any warnings?
Here is link to company selling them:
KurveyGirl - Motorcycle Stuff: Dzus Fasteners, angled valve stems, Vesrah and More
Did 5th and 6th gens go away from these fasteners?

I have wondered about the dzus fasteners myself but have never even looked at them up close. if you end up going with them, could you take some pics and let us know how they work?

    Got 'em and they're great

Took a picture of the originals, but it is snowy and cold and have not photoed the new ones as they are installed.
I'll cut to the chase verbally: they are exact fits length and diameter as the originals. The new clips are exact fits, as well. The head is black, it has a straight coinslot in it, and the D-ring. The D-ring is tight in the head of the bolt, so it doesn't flippy-flop. You can push them down to lay flat if you want.

They hold real tight. I'm happy with the set of 10 (both sides of my 4th gen) and will probably get a set of 4 for replacements. Don't want to go back to the originals and mix and match. Then again, now that I know how to lose them, I can avoid riding with them unfastened. Thinking of a solution to the little nylon washers that are the only security between you and dropping a 10dollar bill on the road.

The red panel with black fasteners looks pretty cool.
Go to KurveyGirl and get some if you want a good product. Shipping was 3.50, which I think is "cost", not some fake fee to jack up profits. Also bought some angled valve stems while I was ordering. Am I the only one who can't get a straight fill valve between the hub, the disk, the fork, the chain and the spokes on my tire?
