Man, I don't know about you guys, but February, March and April are absolutely torturous for me because I haven't ridden the bike since September, and there's still snow everywhere. I gotta wait two and a half more months before I can get on the thing and that's just too damn long. Anyone else get this feeling? Not sure what to call it.

Luckily I can ride all year round, but the worst time is July / August with temps up to 40C. I'll always ride ATGATT, so it gets bit warm when I stop.

I feel for ya, this year for me between work and weather has been ruff on me, woo hoo I got it out this weekend for a whole whopping 25 mile sprint, only to end in 40 degree rain as I pull in the drive, whew! felt great, yet all most was like a tease... whats crazy I wrote down the millage from my new chain install back in Sept. went and took a look, I've gone only 120 miles since. Oh and guess what it did today... SNOWED 2.5 inchs sheesh!!!

I know the feeling well. Everytime I think the weather is going to clear for me, the temp drops, the rain comes and snow threatens. It sucks. To help pass some time, I am looking at getting new boots and a new jacket....the wife wants to get me one or the other for Valentines Day....ya gotta love her!

Anyway, tough it out. Soon you'll be back in the saddle...and its worth the wait!

Good to hear I'm not alone on this. Funny...if you can't go for a ride, the therapy seems to be to spend $$$$. No wonder I just bought the Interceptor hard bags today.....
I've often thought of loading up the bike and heading to Cali or Texas for a few days to ride in the winter, but I could never justify that to my wife and three little boys. Anyone ever trailer up and take the bike somewhere warm?

Im not a big fan of the heat myself. Mid summer we get 35-40..... theres no degrees button on the keybord.. but we get 35-40 degrees celcus, bloody terribal when you gotta stop. We also have a rally in winter called the Brass Monkey held in one of the coldest places in New Zealand:crazy:. Bloody good rally. My old man fell asleep on the shitter in -13 celcus one year :smow:

Right now in northern MI we're getting teased with a few days of springish weather. But I know the snow will be here for at least another month. I try to make the most of it by skiing etc. but like you I am jonesing to ride. Instead of spending money on the bike, though, I sit and read the service manual and this forum. :p Here's to an early spring.

I know what you mean...I'm no longer allowing myself on the internet if I'm drunk(that's how I ended up with some Leo Vince slip ons and a PCIII and a GIVI windscreen.):drink: Anyway not trying to brag but we have had some amazing weather in the south this past week..I'm talking 70 degrees and sunshine. I must have put a thousand mile on my bike this last week. Hearing the sound of those Leo's (and seeing the look of jealousy on my buddy's face who owns an 02 VFR) made my drunk spending seem justified.

I'm in north georgia and it had been 30s-40s but last weekend it got to a high of 50s and I couldn't resist a ride any longer. Though I could only ride for about 3-4 hours in the late afternoon it feels like therapy.

    I feel your pain buddy!

Thats it! The next stretch of good weather and I am putting the plates back on her!
Last year I got the itch to do a longer ride, so suited up and rode from Victoria BC to northern Cal all along the coast....nice ride.

One stretch between Ft. Bragg and Eureka was a blast! Next time I would like to ride into Montana and check that area out. I was there years ago...in the winter.

As for trailering a bike, I know some guys who shipped their bikes out East and rode the coast and then across Canada home....now thats a ride!

I think us northern guys appreciate riding more because of the waiting. The first warm spring day there will be bikes everywhere! Starbuck's, Timmy Ho's., smiling faces on the posers.
Got out for the day last weekend, first ride since mid Oct. Theropy is right... I feel like a load of stress has been lifted.

-7 outside right now, roads are clear, sun is out. Only thing stopping me from going for a ride right now is the fact that my insurance isnt good until March 1st. Thats pretty soon tho so Im starting to get real ancy. Just put new brakes on front other day and had the beast running. Thats it, Im moving down south where I can ride year round.

I went to the Motorcycle Show in Chicago last week. The show can't make up for the lack of riding time around here, but it sure helped ease the pain a little! Each day that passes gets us northerners a little closer to spring.

A stunningly warm winter here on the Front Range of Colorado. I anticipated a cold winter, so I pulled the bike down in November to do body work/maintenance. However it was so warm, I ended up putting it back together in December so I could ride. Since then I've ridden almost every week. January in particular was in the mid fifties regularly and no snow at all. I'll ride a little (that's all it takes when you ain't gettin' none during mid-winter), smile a lot and then retire to the recliner and Thank God for a short respite. Body work can wait till Spring.

A bit chilly right now, but back to the upper forties/low fifties by week's end and that's good enough for this old Finlander to be back on the road. Life is GOOD!

My sympathies to those who are housebound due to the winter weather.

Saskachewan??? Shouldn't you have snow machines to tide you over till June or July??

Well, I live in the southwest corner of the province - we're an hour from Montana, and half an hour from Alberta. Believe it or not, we don't get that much snow in this corner of the province because of the Chinook winds that blow up from the south. We do get some cold weather, and enough snow and/or ice to extinguish any thoughts of riding from November until May.
The rest of the province is quagmired in cold.

I had a couple of good days in the last 2 weekends where I put a few miles on. Makes me wish warmer weather was here to stay.
