Just for those that have actually measured the weight of the pipes they put on and the stockers they took off. Also for all, can you feel the difference in weight? Even 20 lbs is only a 4% change or so. I'm just curious. I would like a lighter system and a little more throaty growl, but not too much louder (I would probably leave the spuds in the Staintunes or LV's). Thanks and ride safe.

I added scorpions, a few pounds less much nicer sound, not too loud at all, and now my fender eliminator fits way better, no need to "stretch" the stockers like my last one.

Stock system weighs around 22lbs, my Staintune pipes (per their website) weigh in at 12lbs. Certainly not a weight reduction I notice while riding but the sound is simply incredible.

The LV Carbons are a big difference in weight; at least 10-15 pounds. Plus the weight of the fender removed adds another 7-8 pounds. Great sound with the spuds out and not a loud as you may think. the first time out with the spuds out i thought it was loud as hell but i heard it on another bike and its not that bad at all.

I weighed the stock exhaust system (everything rearward of the catalytic converter) on my '03 when I replaced it. It weighed in at just a tick under 20 pounds. I went with a Two Brothers Racing carbon fiber "Stash" slip-on exhaust system. It weighed in at 8 pounds. The rightside pipe and "S Bend" tube are the actual exhaust system. The leftside pipe is actually a hollow dummy pipe. It's a lockable storage compartment for gloves, maps, tools, etc. The exhaust sound is a steady droning muted grumble which changes (once the VTEC kicks in) to a sort of muted piercing mechanical shriek as the engine races toward redline. Not overpoweringly loud by any stretch of the imagination, more soul-stirring to be precise. Sounds totally cool when you engine brake during downshifts too. Brings a S--t eating grin to my face every time! That 12 pounds worth of weight savings is high-up in the bike's center of gravity, and it makes a big difference during rapid side-to-side cornering transitions. Hold 20 pounds at arms length in front of you and wave it side-to side in an arc. Now do the same thing with 8 pounds. That's the difference.
