    Hi everybody!
Today I was at test ride to look for the new (used 99`) VFR800. Until now I am not familiar with VFR family. I have other bikes.
And first I met the one strange situation. When I close the acceleration and want to check how bike keeps straight line, it little pulls right.
When I press the clutch lever, the pulling-right disappears and bike goes accurately straight.
How do you think, is this problem connected with VFRs single side swinging arm? or smth else?

    thanx!

    Sasha

I can't say for sure but I thik so. I have experience the same thing. It might also be the weight of the pipe on that side. It's quite heavy actually

Swing arm bearings? Does the same thing happen under light rear braking?

That was my guess when I read this too. But you'd think cocking of the rear wheel allignment would happen under power and engine braking. Of course, under power you have a decent grip on the bars and might negate some of it unknowingly with pressure. I'd put 'er up on the center stand and grab the rear with two hands at 180 degrees and feel for any give in the bearing.

I have no bearing issues with my bike. The pull I mentioned is more balace related in my opinion. If I compensate by leaning to the left I go straight. My guess is still the pipe. Slow speed I don't notice it so I guess engine breaking may play a part in it.

Do you try to change the pipe or other activities to prevent it?
In general I just interesting is this little pulling right is the normal thing for VFRs or this is known bug and needs immediately repair jobs.

I have never noticed a pull in either direction when i close the throttle. Could it maybe be the bars are not lined up correctly? with the bars facing straight ahead, is the front wheel pointed straight, sashaav?

Finally I bought this bike and now I am happy VFR owner
My first impressions are - bike not similar to 4-in-line engines. There is specific sound and specific torque starting from 1,5rpm.
I feel some strange resonance vibrations in speed ~30mph and ~3,5rpm, but in higher speed it disappears and everything is OK!

    Hi sashaav,

Yeah it very different than an in-line 4. As for the resonance, thats a normal thing and nothing to wory about. Mine does it around 5000 rpm but I hardly notice it.

It's great to hear you are happy with it too. May you have many miles (kilometers) of fun
