Hello, I am a new Honda Interceptor owner. I purchased a 1984 VF750F with 14K. I have joined this forum to learn all I can about my new ride. I have read volumes on the internet since buying it. I hope this forum will satisfy my undying thirst for all things VF. V-4's forever!
Hu jchag, welcoem to the forum. You will find lots of useful info here. The V's were the first Honda street bikes that got my attention. I always thought they were beautiful bikes with their tri-color paint scheme.
Cool. You'll hear(read) a lot about that particular model and probs they may have had, but it's a good ride. I bought an 84 VF 500 myself that had been sitting up for at least a couple years and had it running with no major work. It's still not what you'd call rideable, but I was impressed that it got running so easily after neglect. My primary is a 98 VFR. Welcome to the club.
Thanks vman38 and reg71. I bought the bike to commute to work (70mi round trip). I am aware of this models short comings (ie cam oiling and tensioners) but its still a blast to ride. The things I like most; that V-4 rumble and rock steadiness. This bike stays planted and doesn't get upset at much. I am planning to do the oil kit upgrade and would like to improve the sound with some different exhaust. The exhaust upgrade seems to be a problem. Not much out there. If you have any suggestions please let me know. V-4's forever.
