hi all newbie here from ireland, i ride an '88 nc24 baby vfr(400) i signed up in the hope of a little info on my bike, so as a first post id like to ask if anyone knows if it's possible to fit a vfr 750/800 rear wheel on my nc24? they both share the same 4 bolt pattern but my rear wheel is 18 inches and finding decent rubber aint all that easy so i thought i'd ask you guys if the 17" wheel off a big vfr would fit? this would open up a much better range of tyres for me,i hope someone can help or even if someone has tried and failed,i'd like to hear about it! thanks in advance guys! paddy, nc24, dublin, eire.
Welcome Lilp. I don't have the answer for you. I know that those in the know here will chip in and offer you good advise. This is a good site, full of many who are well versed in the do's and don'ts of the VFR.
Welcome aboard. I'll have to keep in touch. I am gonna need people to ride with when I make my move across the pond.
thanks for the warm welcome guys! when ya movin to ireland?? i might be on a bigger bike by then and able to keep up!! saying that though the vfr 400 is quite a fast little bike!!
when i bought mine all the fairings had been damaged so she's not the pretty little vfr i dreamt of owning as a kid but she's never missed a major beat even on a my 170km(not alot i know) round trip to my mums house last week in the snow! and i love her for that alone,i'll stick up pics of whats left of her!
I heard they closed airports due to 4 inches of snow the other day. Is 4 inches really all that much for you folks? She's a ratter.
we're not very well prepared for snow over here,we dont get it so much but being an island situated where we are we not only got the snow but arctic gale force winds came along with it too!lots of flights were cancelled they had the same problem in th U.K too i believe
Had a friend who got stuck in Dublin trying to get to Cambridge over the week end. He had to take a boat and then a train. He got tired of waiting all night for the airport to open again.
haha the poor guy!! hope he got there safe, some of the train services were cancelled too! yeah she's a tatty lil ratter but most importantly she's mine!
cheers dude! some like it some hate it but i think it looks wicked for a bike that probably would have ended up sold off in parts!
I have driven and ridden my share of beaters in my day. My personal philosophy is if it runs, run it into the ground.
lilp, holy schinikies, is that entire bike primer gray or is it any optical illisuion? welcome to the site. I live in Ca but most likely will make may way to your side of the pond one of these days. I plan on travelling around the globe as much as possible before I kick the proverbial bucket. reg
