85 VF700F seat cowl?

Does anyone know if there is a seat cowl available for an 85 VF700F interceptor? I love the look of them! If one wasn't manufactured, is there one that would "fit"? Like maybe off the VF1000?

Also what is the largest width of a rear tire I can put on? Currently I have a 130/80/18 on the rear and a 120/80/16 on the front.

Thanks, I've visited that site many times. I didn't realize I need to puchase a differet seat.

 

I have an extra solo cowl for the vf interceptor covers passenger seat cushion and gives extra back support might let it go. I'll dig it up and photo if you like.

 

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Will it fit my 85 VF700F?

 

VF750F Solo Cowl

I think this solo cowl was a dealer installed option. The setup also had grab rail deletes which I am planning on keeping but may still be available from dealer microfiche. As the picture shows there are brackets under the seat which the mounting bosses thread into. Your seat may have holes in it for these parts already. The cowl comes with a lock extension and the tail cowl lock cylinder goes in the solo cowl. There is one scratch in the pearl white paint and a couple of scratches on the blue decal, no cracks the seat back vinyl is a little faded. Anyone watching this thread with an opinion how much $ should I get for this thing?

I don't know if the vf500 shares parts with the 750/700 in general but the model changed significantly between 85 and 86 on the vf750/700 so I don't think the cowl would fit your bike. HouseForsaken is now the proud owner of the cowl so look forward to his installed pic's soon.

 

The cowl was a factory option only and yes it was dealer/owner installed. I haven't seen any other than mine in over 20+ years. Very rare.

I wonder if there would be enough want for them to justify making a mold and reproduce them?

Thanks to some photos from Grey...this is the bracket which I need to hold the latch for the seat. You can see in the third pic my bike, the grab rails support this latch...the first two show the bracket. Any ideas?

Sweet Cowl I am so glad to see it on you your bike. I was digging through my receipts for the bike yesterday and found the Honda manual for the solo cowl I'll send it too you if you want.

You should put up a pic on this thread it looks good.
