Wow, that thing is amazing. The paint scheme may not be to my taste, but the amount of effort that went into this...plus the performance mods, tres nice!

I think it's pretty cool. and it's damn sure an original. I haven't seen any bike close to that one. even all those stretched out drag bike gixxers with all those crazy paint jobs. you'd definitely be able to pick your bike out in a lineup!

Agreed. It's certainly not what I would build, but I have to appreciate the effort that went into it. There is a lot of attention to detail here.

    Its nuts. Very cool.

Love the theme. I'm a huge gambler, and for some reason, that bike really seems to match my personality. Very cool.

Stosh - wow what a ride.. not my taste but I can appreciate the thought and work that went into it. Just a curiousity question, -- If you knew you were gonna ditch the LBS, why didnt you ditch the stocker fork legs or forks altogether and add better performing brakes in the first place? You know, you got about 4 lbs of dead weight hanging on your forks now. --( Yeah I did the whole hog route, I'm the original VFRworld linked brake hater)

--Confession -- I'm an engineer and considered what you did, but it just seemed risky. Maybe its ok and maybe not but I didnt want to be test dummy.

Thanks for your ongoing interest in my bike, your input is appreciated gentlemen. Time to answer some more questions.

Sandalwood, you mentioned the attention to detail on the bike,we actually had alot more ideas for the bike. Some of the sillier ones like mounting propellers, hanging bells or maybe dingo balls,or a horn that went "ha ha ha HAH ha" like Woody Woodpecker were nixed right off. One of the cooler ideas that got nixed had to do with the chainguard. There's just a silver painted plate behind the word "Jokermobile". I was originally going to box off the area behind the word "Jokermobile" put some clear reflector material behind the lettering and install a seven-color-changing LED light in there. It would've been easy enough to do but this bike is a rider not a show bike,it gets dirty and washed alot. The idea got nixed because I asked the question "How do you get the water out of that box?" I may still do it because it's an idea that's just too cool to ignore.

No Hondajt, that's Imron 5000 effects sparkle paint. Pictures never do paintwork justice,in sunlight that paint sparkles. My buddy Rob(Pez)mixed a bit of pearl in the clearcoat to give it just a subtle hint of rainbow sheen.

Hello Mello Dude,I have to confess that I've been waiting for you to weigh-in. If you're the original LBS hater I guess that makes me number two in line. I read your article on removing the LBS system(in fact I read it several times,OK I admit it I'm a gearhead junkie too!) your solution was very well planned and executed, and a good read as well. I went about removing the LBS from a different point of view. I did it on a budget with MY SAFETY being the main priority. I understand your concern to my solution of removing the LBS system. I didn't decide to remove my LBS until the problem of keeping the left brake caliper mount stationary was solved. The pin we used runs the full length of the bore hole in the caliper mount. Before I epoxied the pin in place I bolted both pieces to the fork leg and pulled backwards on the caliper mount. The pin and mount swing through two different arcs, and those arcs overlap. The very end of the pin wants to move up but it can't because the mount is moving down. You could pull the caliper back just a tiny little bit but absolutely nowhere near far enough to move the brake pads off the rotor. Under braking all of the front wheel's rotational inertia is moving the caliper toward the fork leg,and the epoxy is there just to keep the caliper from falling backwards. Remember,in stock form all that holds that caliper from falling backwards is the tiny circlip that secures the oil seal of the secondary master cylinder in the left side brake caliper mount. As a redundant back-up to the epoxy we could've drilled a hole through the caliper mount and pin and pressed another steel pin through them but we deemed that to be a bit of overengineering. The caliper mount is a solid structure now just like any other ordinary caliper mount. I freely admit that your solution is a cleaner more elegant, although more expensive, solution to removing the LBS than mine was however both solutions do work. I posted that close-up shot of my front wheel just to see if anyone would notice or even care that I removed my LBS system. Thanks for your concern Mello Dude,I appreciate it. I guess it's true you do meet the nicest people on a Honda!

Hope this answers some of your questions. Thanks once again for your input gentlemen.

And jsut what is wrong with leopard skin patterns. I have some perfectly fine underwear in leopard skin print. They are made of spandex and are shiny too.

WOW! AMAZING WORK and attention to detail. I love to see someone fully explore their passion and be truly unique. Naturally, it will not be everyone's idea of perfect but it is YOUR idea of perfect. Hats off to you for making your bike be what you want. Thanks for the pics (who cares if they are so big) and the full replies. It took some time to respond to each person with all that detail. Pretty darn cool! The very idea of the Joker is over-the-top so it is perfect that your bike is the same. And how cool it is that you generate such good will and take the time to talk to the kids and the public at large. No need to apologize about anything...GOOD KARMA!
Keep it up and stay safe!

I am just sitting outside in my yard and scroll leisurely through VFR world to get some inspiration on color schemes. And bang I come across your thread. You created a piece of modern art - congratulation! Axel

Dang! And I thought that just painting my bike a non-stock color was over the top. Great work. If I may critique a bit, I'd say that your fairing, tail piece and front fender need a bit of attention. The bike looks a bit unbalanced and unfinished with the fairing in the stock color as if you bought a replacement plastic set in factory colors. Take it a little further and cover all of the stock paint with a design and I think you will have done it. Cover for the 2010 calendar? You have my vote. I am in to old Honda CBs and there are plenty of custom designed versions of those. I was just thinking the other day what I could do to make my VF a bit more custom than flat black. Ammo can side bags? Hmmm.

It's been awhile since I've replied, been busy on the website. Thank you for your continued interest in my bike gentlemen.

Thanks Gears I haven't used all the colors in the crayon box yet but I'm getting there.

Jesus Randy!!! You haven't been taking ALL your meds again lately have you? :tongue:LOL! Seriously though I always look forward to reading your posts you are without a doubt the funniest guy on the whole website. Thanks for posting here my friend,I'm honored.

I'd like to say thanks to Reg71,CebuVFR,and Onesided as well. You're right guys it is exceedingly easy to spot my bike in a crowded parking lot it's usually the most colorful thing parked out there. Trust me after a long day of riding I like easy.

"Holy Farkles",Thanks 300Shooter. To be honest though half the credit has to go to my buddy Pez,without his help I wouldn't have gotten this far. My running joke with him is, "How come everytime you get a good idea it costs me money?"

I've come to find that one of the coolest things about my bike is that other people will look at it and come up with totally funny ideas that I would never have thought of,not in a million years. Leftcoast you are absolutely right (how did I not see that?) THAT WOULD be a funny picture and a cool idea for a VFR World contest. My caption entry would probably be "It figures, there's ALWAYS gotta be one in every crowd" Ironically it was seeing my bike parked next to two other Red 6th gens. that made me want to push the paintwork over the top.

Thanks Nungboy your replies always come from the heart,it shines through in your posts. You're right,I like spreading the love when it comes to motorcycling it's a lifelong passion of mine not simply just a hobby. I sent along a couple of pics for you here's the story behind them. My buddies and I were at Road America in Elkhart Lake three years ago to watch the AMA races. (in fact another panel member Phil Ceptor tells me he saw my bike there) We were by the Ducati pits when a guy and his sons approached me and told me that they'd seen my bike parked at the bottom of the hill. His youngest son Jack was pretty excited to meet me and asked if he could wear my helmet. It's a good thing that I was standing behind him when he flipped it on his head because he nearly fell over backwards. The visor was up and he reached up and slapped it down with authority,it was hilarious. I asked him to give the thumbs up for the picture. I call this picture "Jack in a hat" it hangs on the basement wall in my gym. Now talk about Good Karma as I was having my picture taken with my little buddy Jack the Ducati umbrella girls happened to be walking by. They thought it was sweet that I would take the time to do that so I asked if I could get my picture taken with them. Hmmm....you know Nungboy the funny thing is I can look at that pic of Jack and describe for you every detail about it and yet when I look at the pic of the Ducati girls all I can tell you is that my knees were shaky and MMmmm.....those girls smelled good! Go figure?

Thanks DCompson as much as I revere my VFR it's not sacred. And since noone ever told me that I couldn't do this to my VFR I thought well why the hell not! I like this 6th gen. VFR,and I plan on keeping it for a long time.

Dalexander I'm hoping that listing of Bangkok Thailand under your name is for real because after I read your post and saw it I was standing Ten Feet Tall. When I was doing this work to my bike it never occurred to me that another VFR enthusiast on the other side of the planet would see it someday and give me the thumbs up. Big Thanks Axel your input is much appreciated. I don't suggest you use this color scheme though, trust me this thing is one giant dirt magnet.

It has always been my idea right from the start to get rid of all those "acres of red paint" on the fairing panels Seidts. The bike is a work in progress I haven't gotten that far yet. What you're seeing now is simply THIS iteration of the bike. We're going to paint the fairing panels with sparkle paint, each piece a different color. No artwork of any kind on the fairing panels,in fact my painter Shawn was begging me to let him paint them. Remember this bike is a rider not a show bike. We want to do something that's simple and easily repairable incase the bike gets dropped and the panels get damaged. As you know Seidts the chin section really takes a beating from the road debris thrown up by the front tire. Those lower fairing panels will have to be painted periodically to keep them looking good. With the economy the way it is though probably no work will be done on the bike this year. It would be nice to make the 2010 calender but my vote would go to Fearisgood and his "Spraycan Special". If he pulls off that P40 Fighter Plane sharks nose artwork on his front fairings he oughta be a shoe-in. As far as paint schemes go for your VF,they're just like my VFR,the sky's the limit. Have at her man!

Thanks again for your input and support gentleman.

Hey StoshMonster! Thanks for checking in. That is so nice that you take the time to respond to everyone's comments. And that is funny that you chose to mention the story of the kid, the helmet and the pictures. I follow my (late) brother's habit of taking the time to speak to kids as real people and to find out what they are interested in. You clearly made his day. People are so often looking for Life's meaning...I think most of the meaning is just taking a few minutes to make a difference and put a smile on someone's face. It is so easy to do that. You seem to do that with your bike and your outgoing approach. The cool thing is that generally, if you follow your passion with a good attitude, you naturally and easily spread the fun and the smiles. It is no accident that the Joker has a smile on his face.
P.S. I like the umbrella girls!

lol I haven't been posting much at VFR world and in that huge paragraph there's my name!

Too funny. Sharkmouth is almost done, but I don't know if even I would rate my bike above the jokermobile. It has so much attention to detail!

    You is good people Stosh:thumbsup:
