I was a little nervous about the installation of the OEM bags on my new viffer after reading reports of four hour installations. Then I get the bags and take a peak at the instructions and it says I need a 12mm drill. I finished up with work at 4:30 tonight and though I'd see about installing the bags. I was done locking the bags on my bike at 5:03. It was a breeze, no 12mm drill required.

I'm guessing maybe there have been some modifications done to the 07 bikes that might be a bit different than the older models. These bags were for the 06 Pearl White VFR. According to the instructions I was supposed to drill out the hole in the passenger peg brackets to 12mm, my bike's bracket already had 12mm holes in them and the bushings simply pushed right in.

As you can see I've removed the stock plastic fender, this wasn't necessary for the install and actually adds time to the installation by requiring to more bolts to be removed.

The instructions also mentioned removing the 4 screws holding the rear cowl on to allow it to slide back to access the 2 rear bolts holding the rear fender brace. This was not necessary either, the bolts were plenty accessible with a straight shot using an extension on a ratchet and a socket.

As recommended here and in the instructions, I mounted everything loose until all bolts were threaded and then tightened everything up. Couldn't be happier with the ease of installation or the operation of the bags. Took a couple of cell phone pics, will post better pics another day.

I never would have thought that the white bags would look so good on the RWB. They go great with the color scheme. Are you running the stock fender? I've read in other posts that you need to with the hard bags, but your license plate looks to be sitting a little higher and the low hanging reflector isn't in your photos. Did you modify the stock fender?

The brackets for the bags includesd a new bracket to replace the one that supports the rear fender. The instructions do not require the rear fender to be removed for the bag or bracket installtion, but there was only two more bolts to remove, to remove the rear fender, so I did. The tag light/bracket attaches directly to the new rear fender bracket (with or without the rear fender installed). It took me right at 33 minutes from start to finish to install the bags and was really a piece of cake to do.
