Well Im stuck on getting a 05 or an 06 VFR 800. I've been looking up to 500 miles from 22193 (Woodbridge, Va). I just realized one thing though. I don't know if I will be able to sit on the bike. I have sat on cruiser type bikes and just assumed I was good to go, but when looking at seat heights I noticed that cruisers have a much lower seat height than a viffer. I can sit on a Honda Nighthalk with my feet flat on the ground. That seat height is 29.3 inches. My question is do you think I can sit on a VFR 800 with my feet flat on the ground. Can any of you experts help. I haven't actually sat on one yet, but plan on doing so in the next couple of weeks.

The 05's and 06's seat height is 31.7". I'm 5'11 with a 32" inseam. Does that mean that I will have to stand to have both feet flat on the ground. When standing with the seat be right there with no space between my crouch and the seat itself? Im kinda in panic mode since I have pretty much narrowed my choice of bikes to this one. Can someone help.

    hfam95,
i'm 6'1" with a 34 inseam and my legs are still pretty bent at the knees with both feet down. I don't think being 5'11" will be a problem. Good luck.

But how about in a stopped position. Can you put both feet down at a stop? Thats what Im mostly concerned. I'd like to be able to stop at a light or a sign and put my left foot flat then my right (or vice versa) all while still seated. At the very least be able to stand flat footed at a stop with both feet. Im not trying to play balance the rocking bike on the balls of my foot.

I think you are probably the perfect size for a VFR or most sportbikes. I am 6'1" and I'm a little cramped on most of them. You should be good to go.

I dont think you will have any problems sittin gon the VFR. I am 5'7" with a 30 inseam and I stand on the balls of my feet. I am comfortable with how I sit on the bike and the ergonomics of it.

    lowering

I am 5'4" I just rotated my triangle plate and lowered(raised the front forks to match the back. It lowered the bike about 3/4 of an in and the bike handles better into the turns.

I'm 5'4" tall and not only shaved the seat of the viffer, but, installed the lowering kit from MCT54 as well. Having somewhat of a problem with the kickstand at the moment. But to his credit - MCT54 is doing all he can to fix it at such a long distance! Wow! But- the VFR is made for most leg lengths. You shouldn't have a problem with seat height. Is this your first bike?

Yep. It will be my first bike. I liked the SV650s but hated that it didn't have a lower fairing. I like the gixxer models (looks), but I didn't like the insurance quote that comes with it in this area. I was gonna go with a ninja 600 but I hated the way it looks. The banana seat is not my cup of tea.

The interceptor has many things I want in one single bike.

Single sided swing arm. (not a want, but its nice)
    cheaper on insurance.
    not naked or semi naked
    not as aggressive ergos.
its a 781cc (I was looking for something between 600 and 750 cc)
although it has the banana type seat (without the cowl) it really doesnt look it with the overall styling of the bike.
and of course....the under seat exhaust...uagggg(homer simpson drool)

Its a win / win situation with me.
