For all of you that are enjoying warm weather at this time of the year, I envy you! As I'm up here in snowy Canada, so any of you who find yourselves out on your Vffer's during January/Febuary, twist the throttle a little bit for me! As I'm wishing for a quick winter and a very, very, very long summer!

To all have a great New Year and remember rubber side down and shiny side up!

Hi Cdn Vffer, allthough we don't get your temperatures in the UK we are going through a cold spell at the moment, with temperatures down to minus 5 the roads are icy and covered in salt, so it's not worth taking my bike out till the ice clears, minus 5 probably seem mild to you, but we don't usually get such cold weather here in the UK, to us it seems like Siberia.

Happy New Year to you and all on the site.

My ride last Friday was 62-67 degrees F. It was nice because we have had some stormy and cooler weather recently here in Tucson, AZ. (My ride yesterday was scrubbed because of the cold rain.) Sorry it is so cold where you are!

I'm bummed- we actually have a week of nice weather on tap coming up and my VFR is missing a mirror since it decided to have been cast out of solid fail and broke off during attempted adjustment so I'm gonna have to look at the Viffer sitting in the garage as I walk to my truck. Sucks- winters here in Oregon aren't very nice and I miss riding so much! I'm not afraid of the rain, but freezing rain/black ice and Snowgasm '08 that we just went through have kept me sidelined.

Vermont: A place that is so covered in snow and ice that three of my parts bikes are missing. I can see a set of handle bars sticking out of the snow bank but two are completely lost from sight. The roads are great after the frost heave calms down a bit in the end of May but until then, it is like driving down a stair case anywhere you go. They start patching the potholes in June but until then it is a bit like operating in a mine field with similar consequences after hitting one. It a good place to ride. It is outstanding from July to November but right now not even my cats will go outside. They just sit and have a depressed look on their faces. I understand that Canada has the same thing but in a more condensed time frame. It sucks here right now and it will suck there longer. I hope you like to ski.
It's a shame that snow machines are so freaking loud and smelly other wise I would not feel like a newbie on the first ride in the spring and all of my muscle groups would be ready to ride. Here's to the internet and restoration projects.
    Why haven't I left yet?

Hey Suck it up. You easterners can always move out west here and be ignored like we are. West Coast BC is our secret. You need a Republic of Western Canada passport to come here form Ottawa. Leave Steve H there. He would probably bring us more snow

I twisted the heck out of the throttle on Saturday for ya! It was 68 degrees and not a cloud in the sky in California! 150 mile trip with 32 other bikes! :DANCE7: I did see a clean 4th Gen in the Santa Cruz mountains... He looked slow because his bike was red! :heh::sorry:

It was quite cold here today, but finally the fog was gone and the sun was shining! 28deg. when i left and it warmed to a toasty 38 by the time I came home 65 miles later- freaking fantastic. Nice to get out and ride when it isn't dark as hell.

Hey Honda Tech, my left mirror broke on me this past summer right where the round stem and bolt plate meet. I used a grinder and flattened the stalk on both side until I could get a good fit in the mounting bracket. I then drilled a hole for the bolt. Mounted it up and it worked great until the new mirror came in! In fact I still have it just in case. It was approx. an inch shorter than stock but adjusted fine. In fact it probably is stronger than stock due to the fact you don't have such an aggressive transition from round to flat.

So I'm not the only one that happened to! Wheew that makes me feel better. Thankfully my dealer got me one in 3 days or so so it's all good plus another member on here offered to send me his since he went with aftermarket mirrors on his bike (exceptionally generous) I bought his from him so now i have spares but it pleases me that I'm not the only one this happened to.
