Hey all, Had a beautiful day so I thot I'd go for a ride. Temp was in the low 50"s and sunny. While out on the ride I kept thinkin hard about the exhaust mods other VFR owner have done. The one in particular is where you take off the end caps and using a hole saw cut around the exit pipes and then with a dremel tool cut out the exit pipes approx. 1-1/2" up into the exhaust housings. Well I went to Lowes and found a hole saw and after approx. 130 miles of riding went on back home and spent the rest of the afternoon performing the mod. I've wanted to do something with the exhaust and not spend a $1000 bucks on pipes! Well I completed the mod in about 3-1/2 hrs. I must say the bike has a distinct sound now!! I'm almost afraid it's too loud but then too, I'm used to the stock pipes. It will grow on me! I took it out for a short ride and really got on it a couple of times thru the first three gears. Oooooohhhhhh don't she roar now! And there is a distinct power gain in the lower rpms as she's climbing up the the tach. When I hit second gear there was a lunge that I've not experienced before! Thot the front wheel was commin up! Great web site and I do like the VFR! Me and a buddy are heading to Deal's Gap this summer in late May and can hardly wait! :cheersaf:
