    Hi all,

I am considering getting an 05 VFR (red) with 2200 miles and a laser exhaust. Dealer let me keep the bike over the weekend to test it out. Love the bike so far, it is Very Smooth. Kind of reminds me a my old 919 but a lot more refined. I am also considering a Triumph Sprint RS 955i (04) which is a good bit cheaper than the interceptor. Just wanted to check with the folks that know and love the VFR to see if there are any issues or regrets with getting the VFR (6th gen) and is there anything I need to be wary of.
    Thanks

For me it's a no brainer. Honda engines are solid and will last an eternity. There are lots of luggage options for the VFR to make it a capable touring bike and adding a good set of tires will make it a blast in the twisties. You get the Best of both worlds! Grab the Interceptor and put an aftermarket seat on you'll be smiling for many years to come. Maybe I'm a little partial though considering I have 2. You should check to see if the R/R unit was replaced on the bike. I believe there was a factory recall from Honda for 2002-2005 models.

    Regards,

    Thanks Rollin
I am leaning toward the VFR but I just saw the same dealer with the Triumph has a 98 Superhawk that looks like it is in really good shape, 18K miles on it. Think I will test ride that before I make a decision. A cheap fun Superhawk is pretty tempting.

I agree; make sure the R/R has been changed and the recall on the wiring harness was complete. Othere than that the 05' is a great bike. This sounds like a nice low mileage example so I would take it over the Sprint for a more sporting profile. Good luck on whichever bike you get.
