Problems With Chat Site

    Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the CHAT ROOM freezing up. I'm continually having problems here in Auz?:cool:

    At my end at the moment the CHAT screen is coming up but nothing else. It's not loading up. Warnzie67

    Has anyone else experienced any problems? Just trying to determine if I should be troubleshooting from the server side or from Warnzie's setup. My guess at this point is that there is network latency getting all the way to Australia. The network packets have a long way to go to get down under. :) Since the chat software has a long of network activity, my best guess is that folks far away from the data center may experience issues. If it continues, then my only option is to look for a chat application that doesn't use as much network activity.

    So I'd love to hear more feedback from others on whether the VFRworld chat is working for you!

    I'll give it a look-see but last time I was there, it was fine. I runnin high speed though and I'm pretty damn close to you data xfer wise.

    I know for a while VifferVixxen was having a problem and we were thinking it was her set up or something with her ISP. But the last few times she was in chat she has not seemed to experience the issue. I also run high speed and don't experience this issue, though once or twice I have "fallen" out of the room, but I attributed that to be a network latency issue. WARNZIE's issue, tho, seems to be extreme and yes it could be due to his distance from the server. Due to it's extremeness i sent you the email with the screenshot and he was posting here while I did that. lol Unfortunately, I don't know much about the actual software or the server end of it to be of much help. This is where my lack of experience kicks my arse.

    It seems to be working fine to me, but I was in there by myself... it does seem bulky, but since Im high speed that doesnt bother me much. if i was overseas, it might be a prob... who is the face in the background? is that you michael?

    ok. I saw the probs firsthand today michael. it kept dropping warnzie over and over. i also nticed more lag than I should have given that I was on high speed... any chance there is other software we could give a look see...

    I agree, the lag was very noticeable last night. A rare occurance, it froze up on me and messages I typed would not appear in the room. A refresh of the screen did not help. I don't know what other apps are available to use.

    I'm also in Oz. There wasn't anyone else in the chat room, but it seemed to be working for me just now. :smile:
