Hey everyone, I'm interested in putting a single slip on on my 6 gen VFR. Can it be done, or should I ask, is there any out there that will fit a 6th gen.? I'd like to do something but just can't part with a thousand or more dollars for a set of cans. I've seen some threads that the stock cans gutted are really loud. I had a 600 Katana with a D&D slip on that was just about right. Would the VFR with gutted cans be much louder than the Kat with a D&D? You can hear the Kat with me doing a burnout in my drive way. Go to YouTube and type in Kat 600 burnout with D&D can.

I almost bought a katana before I got the VFR, and it really sounded good in the video. I know this isn't what you wanna hear but I love the looks and the pitch of the stock pipes. But if you dont mind the time and money, gut it, or spend the $500. I love the original pipes though.

To get the decibels you want you would need to gut the catalytic converter as well. I started mine without exhaust and it was still quieter than the RC51 with cans.

Maybe you can find someone willing to make an undertail trunk for the 6th gens that fills in the gap for single exhuast setups.

I've toyed around with the trunk idea since I put this thing on in June but I personally can't make it work. I'll likely be buying another identical can on closeout and putting both under the tail. Making a pipe to fit the two seems way easier than creating a functional and decent looking undertail.

Thanks for the replies! I see what you mean by the under-tail, I didn't think it would be so open, I guess. I thot it might look more like the current sport bikes. I'm a welder by trade and am now thinking about gutting the cans. We have a plasma cutter at the shop which will make a nice clean cut along the weld seams. We have wire machines set up to weld stainless steel, I do it all the time. Sooooo, it looks as tho I may just gut em. I also like the looks of the stock cans. I'll leave the cat in tact tho, don't want to be obnoxiously loud.
