I just found an 05 new on a shop floor for $8999. Should I just go for the 06? Is there much of a difference? I need to make a decision this weekend on getting the bike. It is RED..

    Please give me some feedback

    Thanks,

    Steve

they're both great bikes. are you getting the 05 a lot cheaper? if so, get it and use the savings for customizing the bike to you preferences. at least that's my opinion. i bet you could talk the dealer in to some freebies on the 05 cause they like to move the old stuff off the floor.

Steve, $8999 sounds high for an '05 considering I paid under $9K for my '06. I would be looking for a substantial discount since it's technically a year old already!

I guess you should consider your savings. I would only get the 05 if I could save a bundle on it and turn around and put that money to good use on accessories. Or, I don't know where you are from but in the U.S. right now the only colors available are pearl white and a metallic black for 06, so the red color choice might be an interesting option if you live here.
You may want to consider holding off to see what 2007 brings! There are lots of older models out there at a pretty reasonable price. There is a beauty for sale in the classifieds here right now with white rims for around $3,000. I am sure by the time a new model comes out you would still be able to sell it and get your money back. 10,000 miles on a 1990 750! Wow if he'll trade for a 1 yr old 8' x 18' enclosed trailer I'll take it! (no extra cash laying around right now)

Ditto what AZViffer said. I didn't get mine for under 9k, but it was only $9400.00. I'd try and talk them down a bit.

I've never driven an 02~05 to see how the Vtech is, but I hear it almost like shifting gears. On my 06 it's almost seamless.
