I just about have all the pieces collected to do a F2 wheel swap on my '84
VF750F. Has anyone made this swap that can give me any feedback? I would especially like to hear negative points if anyone has them. I am primarily looking forward to being able to run modern radial tires on my 'antique"

Have you checked out my site? I've done this to numerous VF's and make kits for countless number of others as well. There really isn't any drawbacks and the performance improvement is simply staggering. It will ride and handle like a completely new bike.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

Don't let anyone fool you, there is a major downside!

...Your ass will hurt when you kick yourself for not doing it sooner! LOL

Actually, something I've found from modifying numerous bikes is that when you improve one aspect, you will find another part of the bike to be a weak link. This can turn into a vicious cycle where you end up rebuilding the entire bike (cough, cough). I'm only half joking on that one, it is seen as a negative by some people.

This is true. Some folks think that it can make another part worse. Although this might be the case in general, but not really as much when talking about the early VF's. Any improvement is an improvement, you don't get any negatives. I'm often asked if the front forks will be problem when upgrading the rear shock. Sure, they need improvements to them like the rest of the bike, but an upgraded shock makes the whole thing work better. The same is the case with the wheels. The suspension will actually feel like it's working better because the wheels have improved things that much. To get the most of the CBR wheels you'd want to upgrade the suspension, that's the vicious cycle Seb is referring to.
