    Hello gang,

Time for another gear debate. ASV levers vs Pazzo, any thoughts?

Lifetime warranty on the ASV, little more travel adjustment ability, "unbreakable design" but for around $100 more a set.

Looking to upgrade so I thought I would run it by y'all.

    Thanks!

I'm buying the ASV because I think they simply look better. The Pazzo's seem to have a more "machined" finish, which I don't prefer, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm still debating whether to get black levers with a gold adjuster, or gold levers with a black adjuster. I have a '96, all red, and the wheels will soon be black and gold. Oh boy!

I like the ASV's better. The unbreakable design is pretty cool.

That being said nobody could find the shorty style clutch lever for my gen. I was told they didn't have it and there was no definitive date that they could give me. I wanted both sides so I ended up going with the Pazzo's black / red tab. I love them over the stock levers and the shorty style is really comfy especially on the clutch side. With the money I saved I was able to buy new performance brake pads for the front.

The ASV website says there is 3" of adjustmant available. My Pazzos have less than an inch of adjustment. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with the ASVs.

Couldn't wait to get the ASVs for my 96 VFR (all-red) but I agonized over an hour if I should get black levers with a gold adjuster, or gold lever with a black adjuster. I opted for the latter thinking if I powder coat my wheels gold and black, it may look spiffy, but idk...

I guess I could have worse problems that whether I ordered the wrong ASV levers, LOL.

Just got the Pazzo short levers in today for my RWB 07 VFR. Ordered them from pashnit.com. Will post pictures of bike with new levers after the swap.

I think you can also get bits and pieces for the ASV's just in case. With the Pazzo's they will charge you an arm and a leg if not the whole price. But I do like my Pazzo's though.

Howdy Guys; I really like the ASV design, although a bit pricey. I had not known of them ,that is ASV,until now. I would be interested in a set however it's the $$$. What do you guys think if we tried to do a VFR World purchase at a discount? How does one get the ball rolling on that? Maybe you guys ready to pop for a set could wait until we negotiated with ASV for a mega discount !!! eddie

I think that's a sucky idea because I just purchased mine yesterday!

On the other hand, I don't have to wait for the group buy AND motomummy is having a 20% sale on them right now and they have free shipping, no tax, and free gel grips. Basically $195 to my door! But even if they weren't on sale--but they ARE--they would only be $225 compared to others who charge the full MSRP of $250.

Anyway, can't beat that with a light saber. :vader:

I just picked up a set of used asv's for my 93. They look great and work even better. Dont have any experience with the other levers.

This is the first I heard of ASV but I can tell you that my Pazzo shorties are awesome, whatever you decide there is a HUGE difference from stock ergonomically.

If you decide on the Pazzo's check out pashnit.com. They have a pretty sweet group buy deal going on.

Just received my gold shorty ASVs and oh man, is the quality top notch. First off, they must be boxed by the same people that box Apple products, and if you've ever owned an Apple product you know what I'm talking about. I don't think I could ever throw the packaging away, strange as that sounds. Secondly, the instructions are gloss-coated and specific to my application. Thirdly, lots of stickers and other goodies to drool over. Looks like the levers SHOULD cost $250 retail, which they do. The gold is the funky dark orangish off-gold that probably will never match anything else, but I guess in a way, it stands out more, and boy does it look pimp on my all-red '96. :cheersaf:

Ok. I'll ask the dumb question....

Other than the obvious length, what is the difference between the standard and shorty levers? I've seen bikes with them and when I ask the rider why they use them, all they say is they prefer them and never elaborate as to why they prefer them. I've never ridden a bike with shorty levers so I have no personal experience using them. Are they better? Does it depend on the rider?

So I'm curious to know, why would one want the shorty over the standard levers? And when would a rider NOT want to use the shorty levers?

    Thanks.

I have the regular length Pazzo's. My number reason for wanting them was the look. Second was the better and easier adjustability. Third was the way they feel. Regarding there feel... they feel way better than stock without gloves. I think I can feel the difference with my gloves but am not sure, and I always wear my gloves so.... They do look sweet though!
