Strongly recommend AGAINST using IdTransport. Shipped my bike with them and got the run around about some damage on the bike. Without getting into alot of detail, there were basically some scratches and scuffs that they would not own up too.

I also did not like their "made for motorcycle hauling" trailers or better, the use of them. They would be great for hauling two wide, but in my case the trailer was packed and packed three wide. No room between bikes and bar ends. It clearly appeared on my bike that another bike bar end had rubbed against the tank emblem.

I have heard good things about forwardair.com but I have never used them myself. Good luck and I hope this helps. Let us know how things work out for you...

I am trying to decide between Haulbikes.com which use a motorcycle specific trailer (although it had no specific choks or grooves for the wheels only tie down points on the sidewalls of the trailer, they load the bikes sideways)
and JC Motorcycle shippers which use a motorcycle specific skid (not crate)... The price is about the same for both, My only concern is which is the least likely to damage my bike?...

i had my bike shipped from MO to MA and used uship. it works kind of like ebay you list your shipment and shippers bid. you choose which suits you best for price, time frame, and how it is hauled. i was very happy with the guy that hauled mine and it was a good price.

All my shipping quotes have been in the $550-$620 range to ship from Nebraska to New Jersey. I don't care if it takes a week or two extra to get here, just as long as it gets here without any damage... The bike has no scratches on it at all.... Just looking for the Shipper who takes the best care of the bikes they ship....

I used ForwardAir about 5 years ago to ship an ATV from Boston to LA. I liked most of the way they did business: they shipped the bikes in very sturdy containers, you loaded the bike into the container and strapped it down, and the container was secured using combination locks that you supply. The service cost about $400 back then.
The only draw back I remember about the service was that the shipping date was esentially "on-call". I made the arangements, and about 5 weeks later (or maybe it just seemed like that long) they called and said they had a container, so I had to drop everything and drive down to Boston on, if I remember correctly, about 2 days notice.

I used these guys to get my current VFR up here from Phoenix, they weren't to bad less the little delay, they said I should have it in 7 days but got it in 10, something about the freight Depot in Portland where the truck transfer it just so happen to land on a friday night and they didn't get back to it till monday, other than that, it was good price and the people where user friendly I'd use them again. Just take notes and pictures of before and after, no matter who you use..

I would rather the bike arrive in perfect condition 3 weeks late than show up with scratches or cracks in the bodywork and arrive in 3 days... It's winter and I have not been riding much anyway... besides I have other bikes if I have the need to ride...
