Need to replace the set, completely worn out. I have seen some O ring sets on the internet for 123.00. Sounds pretty reasonable and an RK set for 143.00 on ebay. Any other suggestions, its an 02 that I have. Does anyone know the number of links required? I found a set with 110 and one with 120 which was more but if I dont need it, whats the point? I assume I can use a normal chain breaker to get the old one off, yes? Assuming the new will come with a master link.

Is there anything else I need to know to get the old off? I see there is a cover with all kinds of plumbing over the countershaft, do I need a gasket or anything as I prepare to replace it?

Thanks guys for any info you can share!!

how many miles on the chain now?

the whole set-up can't be found for less than about $ 170.

here's your chance to re-gear your ratios if u like

use steel, not alloy rear sprocket

best to cut new chain with adjuster rolled to a forward position so later wear can be taken up

small gasket on cover likely won't be damaged

    OEM Gearing is 43-16
    Number of links: 110
    Stock size: 530

Rear Sprockets can be found from 43-45
Front Sprockets can be found from 15-17

You shouldn't need anything other than the chain and sprockets.

guys thanks for the replys. I have 18K on the set up now. I dont think I will change the ratio as everything is a compromise so if I improved one area its going to make another worse.

I saw on ebay an RK kit for 143.00, guess that was a good deal. one of my local Honda dealers told me he couldnt find a kit as the one he found only had 108 links? so priced separately he wanted 193.00. yea, no thanks I know I can do better,

anyone have a line on where I can get the right kit? I just need a middle of the road quality, nothing fancy unless its close to the same price and then I want a gold chain. Dont need an X chain, good old o ring with steel sprockets will be fine. This thing isnt making a ton of horsepower, I dont dump the clutch on it so driveline shock should be minimal.
