Hey guys, I'd like to put something on my bike that will allow me to drop my right hand and keep the throttle in the same position. Are there mods for this and what are some "good" ones for the VFR. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Go with the throttlemeister. I have them on my 99 and they're awesome. Its a little pricey but imo its the easiest to install and looks the best. It also helps calm more vibs because of the weight.

Those are pretty cool and less pricey than Electronic CC. Definitely a thought...

To get a little more specific, this is almost exclusively for letting my right hand rest every now and then. Is there anything out there that would be a switch that I hold with my left thumb to hold the throttle in place and when released would return the throttle to normal.

I'm a pretty new rider and don't want to get too comfortable with not having to actively do something to keep the throttle under control.

I know of nothing that would do that, maybe some of our other members know of something, but I have never heard of a control that you operated with your left hand. You can also use a vista-cruise. I tried one on a trip to Emerald Isle, it worked ok but was a pain to install and would'nt keep the throttle in the position I set it.

I know of nothing for relocating the throttle to the left side, even if converting to a thumb throttle. doesn't mean there isn't somethign out there, just in over 25 years of riding I haven't heard of it. AS for a CC recommendation, I hear nothing but good things about Throttlemeister. I don't have one, but it is on my list as soon I can round up the cash.

I have used both the Vista Cuise and Throtlemeister and they both have trade-offs.

Throttlemeister looks cool, helps dampen vibration, works well but is hard to turn without letting go of the throttle. The only way I found to do it gracefully was to pull in the clutch, let go of the throttle, adjust the Throtlemeister, and then try to rev match.

The Vista Cruise looks cheap but works well and is easier to engage.

For the money I vote Vista Cruise.

Thanks for the advice and opinions. I'm probably gonna try the Vista Cruise as it's the cheapest (still recovering from buying my Staintune!) and I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

    Thanks again!
