    I will have to check the part number for a 1998 model to make sure the link is the same.
    OK I check a 1998 on Bike Bandit and a 2001 both part numbers are identical. 54223-001 (sub rod assmbly)
    So you are good to go with my link. The price is 85.00 plus 10.00 shipping and handling, so $95.00 you can purchase through PayPal using the email address connected to me on this site. Thanks MCT

    Purchased a lowering link from another list member who ended up not installing it on his bike. Very nicely machined piece. Installation today went smoothly, and the results of my first ride were great. It rides and handles as it always has, but I can reach the ground! No noticable early grinding when heeled over, either. It's a very elegant solution to the short inseam problem.

    Next thought - who is making the shortened sidestands? The stock one still works, but the bike is very upright compared to before lowering it. Not a problem on level ground, but it wouldn't take too much of a right leaning slope to make it difficult to park safely.

    One note to others considering doing the same to lower their bike, the centerstand works but takes a good bit more "heave" to get up on to it.

    Will that lowering link work for the 94-97 VFR750? The Honda part numbers are different but that does not mean the link won't work. Agree? The dust seal and bearing appear to be the same size, the different part no. could simply be because of model difference. Your thoughts on this application would be appriciated. Thanks.

    If anyone is looking for a lowering link I have one available. It works great, lowering the rear about 1.25", but a penske adjustable shock came available through a friend so the lowering link isn't needed now. I bought it from another list member a few months ago for $95.00 and have used it for about 500 miles - it is in as new condition. I'll sell it for $65.00 including shipping, saving you a few bucks. Email me if you are interested.

    I would love to have one if you could provide me with some detailed instructions to go along with it.  Another inch or two would be perfect for my 5'8" frame.  However, what happened to the $95.00 price? ;) Thanks.

    Send me an email to TWcowboylover@aol.com with more info.  Oh, and I ride a '98.

    Thanks again,

    Tiffany

    Yes I can ship to the UK and it would be possible. But it would be harder, you would start to bottom things out. If you need another 3/4" inch I would get it by getting a custom made sear that is narrower and less padded. The VFR seat is wide and splays out your legs so its harder to get your foot down with the seat hitting the back of your upper thigh. My link will lower the bike about 1.250 inches give or take abit. I wouldn't go much further without extensive ride testing... :) ;)

    We are now shipping 3 piece kits for lowering 1998 to 2004 VFR's. You must specify what year your bike is because there was a change in 2002. The side stand is different and the risers are 43mm instead of 41mm

    Here is a picture of the kit;
    Lowering Link, BIGFOOT side stand and Bar Risers

    I hate to have to do this but the bearing prices and dust seals on the LOWERING LINK have gone up. It's only going to be $5.00 on the link itself or when ordered with just the BIGFOOT side stand. If you buy a kit, the price will remain the same at $230.00 plus shipping. :-[ :-[
