Hey folks! I'm looking at replacing my stock grips with aftermarket gel grips for a little more comfort on the old 'meat-hooks'. I was wondering if I could get some feedback from anyone who has purchased any and their experiences with them. In my search so far Spider gel grips seem to be the front runners(?). Any help would be thououghly appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

Hey man, after I bought my 87vfr700f2 last year I found that my fingers were going numb after only 15-20 mins. of hard riding with alot of cornering. I tried thicker gloves, different riding positions, loosening up my grip on the bars, lower rpm touring speeds, etc. but they would still slowly go numb. This year I bought a pair of gel grips and have lessened the numbness by 50% I'd say. The make is PRO GRIP. I found them online I think in parts canada catalogue. My fingers still go a little numb but I can stretch them out on the bike and I do o.k. I didn't notice any vibration or I would have looked into it more. Hope this helps you out!Chris.

hmm, I'm wearing holes in my current grips so maybe when I switch I'll try gel grips. Are they about the same thickness as regular grips? Actually, the grips I have are called progrip I think the last owner put them on. They might be gel grips for all I know. They seem fairly soft to me.

The pro grip gel grips I have are a little thicker in the middle but not so much that they affect your riding.Chris.

I recently bought Progrip Gel 724's. I went on a two hour drive and had NO numbness or tingling in my hands. My stock ones were too small and caused cramping in my thumb. I tried larger foam ones but the buzzing was horrible, my hands would go numb within 10 minutes.

The 724's are just a little larger than stock, just enough my hands didn't cramp anymore either. I love these grips.

I bought them from my local Honda dealer for around $11.00. They come in several colors too. This is a picture of the 724's.
