I was woundering if anyone has heard anything of the 07 Interceptors? Are there going to be any changes in paint color or options. I'm thinking i should keep my GS500 a little longer just to wait and see what, if any, changes they make to the bike. And if they don't change anything i should be able to get a better deal on an 06.. What do you all think?
actually that sounds like a good plan. No I haven't heard anything yet. I saw a wish list from viffers on vfrd I think. It was pretty interesting to see which way everyone went. For me, I like just about everything except the weight. The bike just feels heavy to me. It's not bad once you get used to it but it doesn't feel easy to flick in corners, but it does cruise nicely at speed. I hope they don't lose the single side swingarm, though.
I haven't heard anything either. And yes I would hold that GS a little longer like you plan, since when the new ones come out, dealers will want to make deals to get rid of the current year models sitting on their floors or inthe warehouses.
plus, if you go with a prior model year, you can take the extra $$ for protective gear or bags or racing classes or popcorn or movies or snowboarding...you get the picture... I really do think it's better to have an older bike and good gear than to get a new shiny bike and not have any money for the stuff that saves your life, though.
Very good point and on top of all that you have the taxes and fees and all the break in junk to deal with.. Take the time to look around for a slightly used bike and save huge money..
I'd wait and see, knowing Honda they'll leave it alone, but once in a while they surprise us by listening, Ha wait and see, to many rumors floating around. thou the one about a VFR1200 V5 is starting to be a real buz. but then so has a many others.
Well, they have to do something with that V5. It's won too many races for them to shelve it. And the race days of the V4 are long over. I bought the 2006 VFR800 fully expecting it to have a bigger V5 brother released in 2007 or '08. I know the motoGP V5 998 will not replace a CBR1000, so it's got to go somewhere else. VFR++ seems like the only logical choice.
Interesting point. I suppose if they did that but didn't get any heavier it would be swell. I don't really know much about the V5. I think I read one article in a magazine about it. Wonder if the sound would change much? Would revs be comparable? Would it make the bike to racy for the people who lean more to touring? You know what I'd like to see is bags that go on and off without showing mounting hardware. I don't know how they'd do it, but I'd like it. I just want my bike clean most of the time, but it would be cool to be able to throw some bags on quickly that are made for the bike.
