I ride a 1994 VFR and I have trouble getting the engine cranked up on the initial attempt. It takes a few( few meaning 6 to 12) tries while increasing the choke until I get an ignition. This process seems to get the juices flowing through the engine. After I get the bike started that first time, I have no problems all day long. I can shut her off for lunch, walk away for an hour or more and she will crank right up upon my return. That initial crank causes me great concern every morning. Its like I am willing it to come alive. :) Any suggestions on what may be hindering the ignition process. I have had the bike for a year, regularly change the oil and try to do preventative maintenance. Other than this issue The bike runs great. Any insight into this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

When the bike is cold, turn the choke on 100% before even attempting to start it.

    There's your solution.
