I was going round a corner and had to make some corrections on account of it having a reducing radius.

I heard an extremely loud PRANG and though to myself that I must have exceeding the limit of what the stock tyres had to offer. But NO!!! When eventually i stopped, I found that I had actually dented my exhaust pipe and not my foot peg (like I hd thought). I am about 6ft4 and weight 100kg so I guess the bike is a lot lower 9even though I have set the preload to the max.

So question; Whats the lowest point on your bike. And I dont mean as you slid out!!

GO FIGURE! I was going to say the rim.

But seriously, in a hard corner, I would have said the feelers on the foot pegs. Seems I drag my toe before anything else. Obviously I am doing something wrong. Have no idea how you tagged the mufflers.

Have no idea either. I thought I had lost it when I heard the prang. I'll take a picture of it and post later today.

It left the biggest smile on my face yet though!!!

You probably hit a bump while you were leaning, compressing your suspension. I dented my pipe the same way. I just located a set of stock headers for 50.00. I'm going to mount an ohlins shock, fork springs, & gold valves next. I felt bad when I saw the dents in my previously nice straight headers.

I guess the bump also took a part of my boot slider and wore down my
    tire to the edge too.:rolleyes::tongue:

    I hear you.

Quick question to you cos you appear to know so much about other people's experiences; what exactly does being lucky have to do with ones abilities.

I hope changing your forks help the next time you hit a bump in a corner. For me, its not an option.

I don't pretend to understand the level of skill you obviously possess. It is evident in the photo of your rear tire. No amount of suspension work will help me erase my remaining chicken strips (currently 7/32" wide). Hopefully tire manufacturing technology can keep pace with your abilities. Maybe they should wrap the tread further around the lip of the rim? I'm just saying.

I did the same thing too when I realized textile pants are no good for knee dragging, they tend to grip instead of slide. The feelers were removed cause they were way too annoying at the track so now its knee or headers.

Judging from the scuff on the tire, I wonder if you slid a bit causing the ding to the pipe?

The closet thing to the ground on mine in a corner is my knee or toe slider. If you are dragging hard parts, get your body off the centerline and allow the bike to stand up a bit. Keep the balls of your feet on the pegs and not your arch. This will help prevent you breaking your foot when it gets sucked under the peg! And pushing that hard on the street often doesn't end well. YMMV

You dont have to be rude!!!

If you forget about your chicken stripes for a second, you will find out that the bike will almost always do it!! The question is; can you?

So instead of the sarcasm, why dont you just up your game. Its not my fault that you can see be past the yellow to what could be. So why criticize people who can??

Dont hate the player, hate the game.

    Thanks for your words.

I guess there is always a better way. I'll work on moving my torso more. I already got word from a friend I ride with that I need to do that.

How can I forget my chicken strips, they mock me every time I look at my bike. Its the allmost part of "allmost allways" that keeps me from leaning as far as you. At 49 yrs my game is as up as it is going to get. When you show photos of your tire completely scuffed to the edge, imagine what you do to my self esteem. I cant hate the Playa, & I love the game. P.S. If you use proper technique in the twistys, it will look something like this.:bootyshake2: Remember body weight inside of the tire contact patch.

i hang off like a monkey, but my exhaust and my peg feelers scrape (exhaust looks just like yours). I have used all of the tire and it doesnt seem to be pushing, but yeah, parts drag. You gotta get over pretty far to do it tho.

    Well done!
