I thought I'd post this because I've been doing pretty well with this diet I recently heard of and decided to give it a shot. Yes, I know this is a motorcycle forum but this could be loosely categorized as a performance mod discussion since we are after all talking about how to improve performance. Hopefully this will help anyone struggling to shed a few more pounds.

The diet that I just tried is called the hCG diet. Basically, hCG is a hormone found in pregnant woman and before you start worrying about man-boobs and watching Lifetime, this hormone's sole job is to transfer fat from the mother to the baby. But when you're not pregnant the hormone just tells the brain to burn up any abnormal fat.

That, and going on a real low calorie diet (800 calories a day for me) forces the body to burn off its own fat since it is literally starving. You might think why not just eat less? The problem with eating less is that your body will burn off muscle and organs before it will even think about burning off fat. The hCG hormone basically gives the body the green light to burn off fat instead of muscle and organs.

Ok, enough yada yada, here are the results. I lost 50 pounds in a 64 day period and here is a chart on my progress:

For more information here is a average loss per day chart:

As you can see I was losing as much as 3 pounds a day on average but it starts tapering down to a ~1 pound a day loss average. And you know what's really cool too is that I didn't do any exercise at all! There was one saturday I felt lazy and did nothing but watch TV all day and I lost THREE pounds!!! :party2:

This diet works really well but I do have to add some cautionary notes. For one, it's a real demanding diet because obviously you eat so little. The first week I couldn't stop thinking about food and I'm glad I used some appetite suppressants to get me through the rough periods. Plus it's not forgiving of cheats at all and you could lose days of progress just from having one bite of candy.

If any of you want to get more information check out this site: *HCG Weight Loss at HCG Diet Info

And you can also post questions in this thread if you have any other questions/comments.

While I do notice a slight improvement with my bike I think the biggest improvement is now my :bootyshake2: doesn't get sore as much as it used to. You could say it not only is a performance mod but a comfort mod!

Oh, and here is a before/after picture:

P.S. For the naysayers, no, this isn't a "Slick 50" thread.

Well done. I have heard that losing that much weight that fast is actually dangerous for the body, but then again, tell me somebody that would not want to lose weight that fast. I bet you feel 1000 times better, and have tons more energy.

Taking in all the calculations, your bike is now approx 7.5% faster, more efficient, quicker...whatever you want to call it.

Amen to dat! That's a good point about the danger of losing so quickly. As it turns out the diet does put the kidneys, livers, and heart under stress. That's the main reason this is a doctor prescribed diet. I had to go to a clinic and get blood work done to make sure that I'm in tip-top shape to handle it. They did find a minor issue with my blood being too thick. To remedy that I've been taking apple cider vinegar every day.

Yeah, I've noticed that I don't get tired as much as I used to. I went on a hour long bicycle ride (as in pedal power) and I never got fatiqued at all. One downside though is now I have to get new motorcycle pants but hey I'd rather have that problem!

Thanks for the kudos. With the suspension mod, that's actually on my one of the to-do items but I'm not loaded so that'll have to wait maybe until I get a nice tax break from uncle sam. As a quick and free fix I just tightened up my suspension to max settings and now I like the handling much better.

Molsan, interesting that's proof right there the hCG hormone is working.

Excellent work! I'm on a weight-loss kick myself. I lost 25-30 lbs a few years ago and unfortunately gained it back over time. It's amazing how being lighter helps you on a bike. Having done it once already, I'm looking forward to my knees feeling better at the track!

Good for you, Joey_Dude! The most difficult thing to do with any type of diet is to stick with it.

Thanks btay! Hmm, I didn't really think of it like that. I thought it would be easier because now that it's too cold out for riding I can prepare all my meals for the diet at home. Usually when I go out riding I just stop at a restaurant to grab a bite and it would've been too hard to carry my food around with me all the time.

The problem is that with the diet I have very limited options plus I have to weigh everything BEFORE its cooked to ensure consistency. At a restaurant it would've been too difficult to accomodate that.

So Joey that's the way your going to do it. By losing weight. That old 83 VF750F gave you fits at the end of summer. Thinking you could walk away from it and found out different. So seeing you can't make your bike faster your making it overall lighter, uh? Well two can play that game. I'm getting my sawsall out now buddy.

ps. your going to have to have your leathers taken in now or they'll flap in the wind.

Ha ha, you're hilarious! As a matter of fact I need new leather pants they flap around when I get above 50 mph. There's gonna be a motorcycle show in february and I'm gonna see if I can get some good pants at a good price. But I'm gonna keep my old pants in case I enjoy pizza too much.

You crazy canuck! I guess I'll just run in peter pan tights because not only will I run faster the cops will be laughing too hard to run fast.

Got refered back to this thread from another post.
It's a year later, how's the weight now? Very interested to see how you have gone in keeping yourself in trim...

BTW, nowhere in your posts do you refer to the daily injections...!:eek::eek:
