I've been lurking for awhile but haven't posted until now, too busy riding! I ride a 2006 Honda 599 and my wife has a 2006 VFR (white - the fast color, non-ABS).

My wife wanted a VFR for a few years and specifically really liked the white. We moved to Vancouver, BC in April of this year and by chance found a 2006 White VFR demo bike that we couldn't pass up on! Prior to purchase I had been researching VFR's, issues, prices, etc. and found this site has been a great reference! Thought I'd finally say hello and start to contribute :cheersaf:

My wife loves the bike and plans to keep her for awhile, I've also enjoyed borrowing her bike from time to time and agree with everything said here and in the motorcycle press. Definitely a great all round bike, tour, cruise, scratch, etc.

No mods yet, but plans to get a replacement seat this spring, thats about the only complaint that both of us have for the bike!

Ya. we'll keep an eye on those threads and join on a ride sometime. haha VFR only though? Another good excuse for me to get a VFR... :)

Quite a bit actually. I've always liked naked bikes but was actually leaning towards a ZX636/CBR600RR when I got the 599 2 years ago. However I got a smoking deal on the 599 and couldn't pass it up. Now I'm really glad I did because its been great. Its great in the city and twisties, the only complaint is long highway rides due to the lack of wind protection. But I knew that getting a naked bike (have had standard/naked bikes and full fairing bikes in the past). My wife and I tour all through the summer and generally do 400-600km days at 90-130km/h and its great for that. Probably longer days would be tough (due to windblast and it is a buzzy bike).

When I ride my wife's VFR then get back on my bike it feels like a toy, really light and you can throw it around, thrash it, etc. It's nice having the two different bikes to trade back and forth.

Thanks. It looks like a fun bike. I like the vfr for touring and most everything for that matter, but it would still be nice to have a light naked bike to throw around once in a while.
