86 Fuel pump location? Pic?

Anyone have a pic of the fuel pump location on a 86 or 87? I think its near the coolant overflow but I'm not sure.

 

It is, it kind of rests on it. there will be two hoses connected to it. it's a metal cylinder w/ some wires coming out the top.

 

left side, near coolant overflow, it is a black cilinder with a plastic cap. REALLY EASY TO FIND.

I guess I should have mentioned why I need the pics. I bought this junker VFR and it had a generic Pep Boys automotive fuel pump. I got the right one and am having a little trouble finding the placement.

 

CLEARLY illustrated in the HONDA service manual.

Are you sure you have an '86? I thought they did away with fuel pumps after '85, also suggests that in the service manual.

having the service manual will save you time, save possible damage to parts, answer most of your questions, and provide you with a safer bike.

 

fuel pump on an 86 is right behind the left side cover below the seat. two hoses running to the fuel tank and one wire connector to the harness.

 

one last dumb question is the filter between the tank and pump or between the pump and carbs?
