Ok, I've got my new Sargent seat and love it.
    It's a carbon FX for a 6th gen.
However, I'm sliding all over the thing when riding.
Is there some sealent on the thing when shipped?
And how should I clean the thing?

I have the same seat, & love it also. I have had no problem with sliding on the seat. A damp cloth would probably remove most contaminants. Has your bike been in close proximity with a container of slick 50?

I hope you're not suffering from the dreaded "anal leakage". :bs:

    LOL!
    You guys are ruthless.

No, it's just when I'm wearing my Joe Rocket riding pants I tend to slide back and forth when braking and excelerating. Much more then with the stock seat.

I had a Sargent seat on another bike, with the same material as yours. I found the stickiness of it "just right" for me. I find the OEM VFR seat to sticky, specially for a sports bike, it's difficult to slide sideways when leaning over a curve. I also find it difficult to make small adjustments for comfort.

The material of your pants, as others have mentioned, is a factor. My Draggin Jeans were perfect on the Sargent. My Aerostich Roadcrafter (synthetic fabric) was very slick, too slick, on the Sargent.

    I hope this helps.

I had that problem sometimes hard breaking when I was wearing leathers and I'd end up smashing my family jewels into the tank. I added stomp grip pads to the tank, problem solved.

My textile pants slid like they were on ice with my new Sargent seat. After using it for a few months the slickness went away and now it feels about the same as the stock seat. Just keep riding.
